Evolve S65 Vanos Covers

https://www.evolveautomotive.com/pro...8f79c3ed&_ss=r

Evolve have developed their own replacement VANOS covers in conjunction with Mr Vanos in the UK which are a true replacement for the original part and they do not leave the springs exposed.

These covers are made of T6082 aluminum, eliminating the risk of future cover failure which could ultimately lead to engine failure. Installation is straightforward and no special tools are required.

Product Details

CNC Machined from T6082 Aluminium
Anodised Black
True replacement for original part
Easy snap on installation
Designed and made in the UK

It's there any benefit to having the full coverage vs the competition?

We wanted to emulate the stock design to eliminate any possibility of risk of leaving them exposed.

Filming install video later today but clip on easily. I don't have any comparison to others so can not comment.

Why would there be a risk?

The stock ones are full covers so why deviate away from that.

Some fitted pictures, full video coming next week.

These are a must do when fixing the pesky rocker cover gasket leaks IMO.

The stock exhaust system has 400 cell primary cats, why deviate away from that? If you want to claim this design matters and is better you need to have some kind of proof.

Bottom line is, this is insanely overpriced, with no proven benefit over the other covers.

A sort of captured market here in the UK . But £500!? (neigh on).

Unless prices have jumped up a lot recently, it's cheaper to get Slon ones from Move Over , but I've just had a look at his site, and he's out of stock .
From Slon themselves it's $457 to the UK ($107 shipping! And that's for the cheaper raw ally ones), it would be about $497 for the black ones (although they're pre-order only atm), which the latter works out to about £391 plus a few % from the bank for forex commission, so say ~£403. Yea, quite a difference, if you don't mind buying from abroad.

True the Evolve ones are a 'full cover', for whatever difference that makes.
Although ally is way stronger than the skinny plastic ones that BMW use anyway.

UK price includes 20% sales tax so not that far away in reality? People outside of the UK do not pay the 20% so it will not be included for international orders on the website.

As they are full covers the machining process is longer. At the end of the day if the price is "too expensive" and cheaper alternatives exist we will not sell that many.

That is not a good comparison. 400 cell cats are put in for government led emissions regulations not because of the performance they give.

No one said that the OE design was the problem - just the material used.

I will have slon covers back in stock in the next 2 weeks or so. Usually around that 385 shipped to UK price mark depending on current shipping costs.

Sure, It was more to demonstrate that maintaining the stock design is not always required, and its tied to the purpose of the mod/part - even your design is not 1:1 OE, its just more similar.
You have not shown any evidence that "fully covering the springs" is beneficial in any way - the OE design choice may be due to the material used as well, or due to the manufacturing process.

The only solid information we have today is that since launch, we had 0 evidence of the Slon covers and their copies causing any issues, or any of the washer solutions either.

Claiming it is a differentiator from other products, with 0 proof of it being useful in any way is absurd, and it just seems like you are trying to jump onto the vanos covers bandwagon, with an M tax.

Thumbs up S65 Vanos Covers - IND Availability

Gents

For planning purposes [value cover upgrade], jus ordered the Sloan product from IND today...in-stock, shipped out same day.

No BS [ie no UK shipping, VAT, delays]

Seemingly best price, availability for an AM vanos covers solution...

I did wonder about VAT just before making my last post, then completely forgot about it! lol.
So are you saying we'd have to pay +20% VAT on top of those Slon cover prices?
If so, that would take Slon's price to £484 which certainly is close then (and Move Over's price to £462).

We have managed to get the retail price on these down by making them in larger batches.

Nice, quite a bit better
Does the £435 include shipping? (within the UK).
