Valvetronic designs M3 exhaust good?

I'm looking at getting valvetronic to make my neighbors not hate me and valvetronic designs m3 exhaust is the best I see for the price. In the future I do want more though, would getting the midpipe they have later be good for the money? Right now I have the 4 pipe mod. I'm looking for a better sound than that in the future. Would the valvetronic designs axle back be as good as the 4 pipe? If so would the midpipe addition they have be well worth it in the future?

I can't answer your questions but I too am looking at this exhaust. Austin has a few videos of their older V1 setup on his old e92 and it sounded amazing. I'm not sure the V2 will sound the same. $2-3k is lot to fork over w/o hearing or seeing it in person.

I had the V1 on my car. I didn't like it. Way too quiet when closed (quieter than stock) and straight pipe loud when open.. super obnoxious. Better off just having something in the middle at all times Imo.

That's weirdly exactly what I'm looking for. I want it loud as hell on the road and quieter than stock in my neighborhood.

I'm sure it'll sound better than just a muffler delete (what I have now). I have seen a lot of videos showing the sound, but over video exhaust sounds way different. I'll probably be picking it up around January, so if I get it before you get one I'll make a post about it later.

Oh probably very loud. I have a muffler delete and it's annoying for a lot of people but I've gotten used to it so drone isn't a problem for me.

Are you going for just the valved rear or their mid/xpipe too? If so, catted or catless?

Sorry for late response. I am going to buy the catless midpipe in hopes it wont be too loud with valves closed. We'll see!

I want it just like you lol obnoxiously loud but good sounding. How do you like it and how loud is it? And which setup did you get exactly?

I just bought the Valvetronic V
2 full exhaust with hfc. I am liking the adjustability so far and the ability to be loud and obnoxious when I want to.

Valves open it does drone a bit from idle to about 3.5k rpm. So think places like parking lots are going to be toned but loud. When you jump on it this exhaust sounds like a NASCAR and F1 car and really gives a Motorsport feel that is unmistakeable. I get natural exhaust pops with aggressive downshifts which is an added bonus.

I personally like the exhaust open at highway speeds where you can really enjoy it as you work through the gears.

Added perks. You can program your homelink garage door buttons to activate the valves and there is no heavy exhaust smell.

Here’s a quick video clip of the sound.

ATLIEN is your car tuned too?

Considering the exact same setup (v2 with the HFCs)

I’m in Atlanta as well… maybe I could hear your’s someday? Where did you have it installed?

I’m in Greenville, SC and had it installed at Thunder Bunny Racing here in town.

Consider Super Sprint!

My 2¢...
IMO, an excellent alternative is a Super Sprint exhaust system.
SS provides a variety of 'in-house' designs, configs that they also manufacture [no Alibaba reselling].
Jus a few benefits listed:
  • "Tailored Options" - Multiple component combinations, section choices [front, center, rear] all engineered to compliment, work together
  • Excellent fitment & quality + 3yr warranty
  • Unique, exotic tones & sound levels [depending on chosen set-up]
  • Tailored systems - From header back to jus axle-back; with or w/o cats, resonators and more
  • No drone
  • No moving parts to replace
After years of piecemeal exhausts...decided on SS after hearing in-person. SS ain't cheap. Sourced direct from SS Italy, scored a great double digit discount.
Build-quality-performace-value are exceptional and my 'last' exhaust system.

My system set up:
> Full header back - front down & X pipes, F1 Extreme Race mufflers, cat-less, non-resonated; cold start delete
> Sound Level - Right foot is my 'valve'

It is tuned as well. I’ve got a custom tune with Alpine Stage 2. You just let them know your setup as they have a tune for this specific exhaust.
Valves open, it’s fantastic when you’re in a spirited state of mind. It draws a lot of attention and you’ll find people break out their cell phones to record you on the road when you’re on it. However, there is some low end drone that often times makes me close valves. Think of in parking lots, etc where you’re just trying to do normal stuff. That’s the beauty of the valves to me.

I would love to hear that setup. I like the valves but it is quieter than stock with valves closed.

Yeah...so don't have fancy audio equip...only iPhone & dashcam which unfortunately cannot properly replicate 'the symphony'
Welp some 'sub-optimal' samples...
