i think i have a bad drive shaft

As i was driving today i took off at a light and immideitly got a loud bang sound shifting from 1-2and 3rd needless to say any good amount of gas and it happens now. Car still shifts fine and goes. Im thinking i destroyed my drive shaft any suggestions are appreciated.

there will be a little bit of normal occurring gear lash, but clunking from the middle of the car would be a clue.

turns out the clunking noise was due to a broken bold that holds the diff housing in place. turns out it snapped and it was banging back and forth.

This is not uncommon. Were you able to DIY?

Not many reports (if any) of drive shaft issues

My diff bolt was sheared off too, not uncommon at all. Had it replaced along with solid subframe bushings, I recommend the same for you. Keeps the rear nice and planted and you won't have a broken bolt thereafter!

Good luck !
