I was able to get my personal best this weekend and have a lot of fun on track with some fast cars. Fastest time for me of the weekend was 2:28.94 which my goal was to get into the 2:28's, so even though it was barely, I still did it!. I got the new Go pro 7 and never got time to set it up and unfortunately that ruined some of my video. It was not focusing out towards the track so the video is very whitewashed, if that is what you call it.

I was debating going to that event but couldn't due to work obligations. 2:28 is pretty damn fast -- what is the car's setup? My best time (and first-ever outing) at RA in my stock Grand Sport on street tires was around 2:36.

Thanks! Yea I was super happy to get that time. I had quite a few 2:29's and happy I barely broke in the 28's. There was a gt2 rs there that's best time of the weekend was in the 28's as well but obviously not driven to potential. Too bad you couldn't make it. The weather tuned out much better than I thought it would be.

Car is about stock weight. Nothing removed besides rear seats for half cage and the recaros. But the half cage is pretty heavy I think about 70lbs. Suspension is Moton clubsports, rd sport sways, Supersprint exhaust,Dinan intake, tune, pfc front bbk, solid subframe bushings, trofeo r 265/295.

I don’t have my pole positions coded yet but I have the airbag and seat belt light on as expected along with the “passenger airbag off” illuminated by the dome lights. Does this mean the passenger airbag won’t go off in the event of an accident? Or is just on because the seat harness is unplugged? I’m using BK mounts with electric sliders so I just have the power for the sliders plugged in.

you need to get the oc3 seat cushion module coded out. when it is, it assumes passenger is always there.

The LM brake fluid is slightly less than half the price for 1L. I'm not so concerned with the wet boiling point as I would replace the fluid at the start of the season. I'm more concerned with cooking fluid in the caliper because my OEM setup can't quickly dissipate heat. Bleeding the fluid in the calipers after every heavy track day to make sure the worst is out of the system wouldn't hurt either.

Too bad nobody (at least that I've found) provides a breakdown of boiling points as moisture content increases.

Oh, man that sucks!!!

Any more background info that you can provide such as # track days, do you ride heavy curbs a lot etc?

We used to have this issue on the Z4MC platform, but it was easy to prevent by adding a reinforcement plate.
I'm not sure that would be possible on the M3

Not sure on the exact cause, but several factors noted by myself and Performance Technic. This is the first time they've seen an E92 M3 have this happen.

1) I'm the most they've seen someone track on stock shocks/springs
2) Dinan front sway bar was set in middle stiffness, likely taking a lot of body lean force
3) I have been a little naughty, curb riding a bit too much
4) Several months ago, I think I hit a little bit of the red curbing at laguna in turn 6, which is baddddd. No damage noted at that time, but it scared me
5) ~16-18 track days in my E92 M3, and it is at just over 60k miles
6) I heard a knock sound while cornering, thankfully in the last session I did. I immediately slowed down and evaluated whether I felt safe driving it. No issues felt while not under heavy cornering load, drove home fine.
7) I have been subjecting the car to more and more load, have run RE71R recently. Also been getting faster and faster pacing wise.

Waiting for an eBay 15-20% off sitewide promo code so I can buy one of those $300-$500 shipped used front subframes...

Expensive couple of months - I already had the following queued up:
- Valvetronic muffler (Bomiz)
- NT01 tires
- Replacing my TE37 SL street set with Apex SM-10
- JRZ RS One coilovers w/helper springs all around, weight jacks, adjustable front sway bar end links

Now it's adding more work:
- Replacement front subframe
- BE rod bearings w/ARP parts (seem to be out of stock everywhere)
- Motor mount (already shot)
- Engine oil pan - have a time sert'd one currently, makes sense to replace "while we're at it"

I would think the end kinks would have blown apart before the subframe... hard to say.
We are at about the same amount of track days and mileage. Maybe I need to go have a look at mine.

You're the first person I know of to wreck a front subframe. Must have been doing something special.

Interesting. I have many more days in stock suspension then later with MCS with Dinan front bar. Many large curbs. Did you use the end links included with the bar and were they adjusted to the proper length?

Soft springs with stiff sways places a ton of load on the sway bar mount points. Track time, sticky tires, a heavy car, and curb use all exacerbate that.

Sounds like a perfect storm of sway bar mount point stressing.

I believe the end links that came with it were used and appropriately installed. I have them sitting under my bed at home, as we uninstalled the bar in the meantime

Assuming positively here as the shop that does all the work on my car has installed this part a lot.

I'm wondering out loud if I should buy the ground control front sway bar end links in my JRZ kit. Potentially nice to replace?

Red Line 50WT Race ~22-25 heat cycles on slicks getting PR's on this sample. Looking good, I'm sticking with this from now on. Left to right we've got Red Line, Red Line, Ravenol, Total, LM (10w-60).

what kind of use was the car seeing on the 4,300 and 4k mile runs? the wear per mile on the recent runs is pretty bad in comparison, i assume track vs dd?

Same use, just driven to the track. There's no DD miles, just addition of highway miles. It's being towed hence the lower miles. The only difference is the driver has gotten ~7 seconds quicker since then
