Brembo - Big Brake Kit (where to buy)?

Looking to upgrade to a brembo big brake kit, rears too. Wife doesn’t know, so need to get as good of a buy as possible - better chance of flying under the radar. This said, does anyone know where I can go to get a fair price on these?

Does it have to be Brembo?

Lots of good options out there include used kits on here

Which Brembo kits are you looking at and what prices have you found with your google searching so far?

I would really like brembo due to looks and performance.

This said, I’m trying to find the best price on complete (yellow caliper) GT brake kit. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

The white car is the look I’m going for - the silver is how my car sits today.

This. OP, what have your google searches turned up? If you go to the vendor classified section there are several that sell BBKs at competitive prices.

If you're trying to put on a BBK under the radar, I would go AP Racing. You'll shed 36 lbs of unsprung weight and most people wouldn't even notice if you get them in grey.

You’re saying that the AP Racing brakes are 36 lbs lighter than Brembo?

30+ pounds less than oem. there isn't much data on brembo weight because people want the name and those huge anchors showing behind their wheels.

Didn't Brembo underperform stock (and all other tested kits) in an E9x M3 BBK shootout?

The claim of 36 lb weight savings seems like a lot. I would have guessed about half that, and that would be combined for 4 piston front AND rear with stock size rotors. But I think people have weighed all the kits so I presume there is evidence to support the claim. I know my Stoptech ST60 380mm front kit weighs about 1 lb less than stock fronts.

I love my Brembo GT. Running Project Mu HC+ pads I can lockup the tires easily even with UHP tires. I've got 5 yrs 65k kms on mine and only used up 1mm of rotor thickness. That said, replacement rotors are pretty expensive.

All BBK use 2 piece rotors. Stoptech, Brembo, AP, Essex, Alcon, etc.

If all you need are rotor rings, they are more that stock front brakes but maybe not dramatically so. I don’t know about Brembo, but I just bought Stoptech 380 rotor rings for $270 each, versus $210 for stock front rotors.

I have front and rear yellow 380mm that I am on the fence about parting out. Recently rebuilt the fronts less than 100 miles ago.

its sort of a bullshit test. most of these kits ship with a set of street pads. bbk's don't shine until the brakes get a lot of heat into them after repeated high speed slowing to induce fade.
a single 100-0 mph stop isn't going to produce fade, so the winner is going to be who has the most aggressive pad compound rather than other factors that determine a quality bbk.

Call Clark at Apex Performance. He'll usually offer 10-15% off for most products.
