First BMW: New to us e92 M3 in LeMans Blue

It had been a long time coming...but we finally own our first BMW. I have had a soft spot for the e92 for a long time. When I was looking at purchasing my last car the only reason I bought the V over the e92 was the headroom for power out of the V. When it came time for my wife to get a new DD...I wasn't letting her pick anything else. She had actually never driven one before when I brought it home but I knew she was going to love it (she is as big of a gearhead as me and she is a mechanical engineer).

The car is everything I remember the e92 being and we are excited to start to get to work on making it ours. I had asked a friend of mine that has had several including his current M4 where I needed to be online and he said this is the place. Even though this is my wife's car, we will be modding it together and we drive each other's cars anyway...so it is really a family car. I am pretty active on my other car forums so I'm looking forward to being active here as well.

Last night we actually sat down in the garage and went over the visual/performance mod plan after we dropped off my V for more power mods. The spreadsheet is in the works!

Congrats! She's a beauty! Always loved that color. That 1,306 hp Cadi sounds like a handful. Wow. It might win in the brute power category but certainly not in the looks department compared to the e92M :-)

Wow, I typically don't like the ZCP wheels in black but those photos are causing me to second-guess my judgement! Very sharp car.

Is that the Borla exhaust on the M3?

Welcome to the forum. She is a beauty, that is my second favorite color on the e92 but with the black wheels, it is perfect. You won't have to work as hard to keep the wheels clean like those of us who have the OEM color wheels.

Welcome to the forum, I'll give you a thumbs up if I see you on 400.

Thanks. I used to do professional automotive photography in a previous life. When I have more time and get the car lower I am going to start taking more shots of the M. Vorsteiner trunk, Avante Garde wheels, Fi exhaust.

It's a different look on each for sure. There is not a rounded body line at all on the V...very aggressive and angry looking. The M has more class to it.

Fi dual valve. The rev matching with the valves open is addicting.

For sure! You'll probably see my wife behind the wheel most of the time.

Wowww I love that last shot. The trunk looks amazing and so does the fumes from the cold start. I want to buy that trunk now, do you happen to know which brand that is? Amazing color combo, perfect really.

Welcome and congrats! Beautiful car and color. That V though, how could it possibly need more power? Is third gear even usable? Do you have a build thread for that beast?

It was between the LeMans blue and white but she really wanted the blue. I am glad I found one.

I have a lot of different rear wheels from 20's all the way down to 17's with DR's on them. Here is the build thread. I really need to update it as my built motor isn't on the parts list.

I'm used to it. Even when you watermark images these days, people will just crop it out.

Yep. Same rsutton1223 everywhere. I keep the same screen name to make things easy.

That last shot of your car with the smoke is one of the most beautiful shots of an M I've come across.
