Z4M Coupe, 1M, or M3
Update here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...9&postcount=59
Right, so as some of you know, I drive a Z4M Coupe for track and back roads and an 02 530i for daily driving. I've realised that I can trade both of those in for a new M3, which can do both, and have the same monthly payment or trade both of those in for a 1M later this year and save on the monthly payments. I love the Z4M, its such a perfect car and I really think with just 1,815 in North America, now a lot less since a bunch were totaled or stripped out for racing, it's going to start going up in value in around 5 years. BUT, the warranty and maintenance plan is expiring soon... new cars are nice... one car would be better than two... getting married soon... I donno, thoughts?

I love my M3, but I also love the Z4M. The M3 is more daily-friendly I think, since it's bigger, has rear seats, and better trunk space, but if you're doing fine every day with the Z4M, I'd just keep it.
But if you're getting married soon, and you might have kids soon after, then maybe the 4-door M3 might be nice? It's plenty fast and pretty darned practical to boot. Just a thought. I think, since you already have a Z4M, the 1M will be sufficiently similar enough in usability that I wouldn't give up the Z4M for a 1M. If it was me, I'd narrow it down to your current Z4M against the M3. This is all personal opinion. YMMV. |

keep the z4 M, its a rare car as not too many are around. Plus yours is awesome!
As others have mentioned, you won't regret it until its gone. I feel the same way about my e46 M3 i sold...

I could never give up my Z4M for an M3. The M3 makes a great family car though

Gave up my Z4MC for an e36 m3 and then eventually moved on to an E60 M5. There are days I really miss the agility of the Z4MC though

I'd keep the Z4M too. Maybe trade in the 530 or a 335i or something of the like.
Oh and from that pic, it's interesting that the e92 doesn't look that much bigger than the Z4. |

I've had a Z4MC and it is a great car. The styling is the best along with the E63 5 Series IMO. However, I now have an E90 M3 and it is a vastly superior car in every other aspects but styling. Get a NA V8 M3 before they are gone.
I don't care if the Z4MC are rare they won't pick up any value IMO. |

Financially if you're going to own any BMW sports car from the last 15 years the M coupe is hands down the smart buy.

Can I buy your Z4M? I have a Z4 3.0Si and a supercharged M3. M3 is the winner for me but the Z4 has it's place. I would love to find a good condition Z4M to toy around with.

The M3 is assembled in Munich and the fit & finish is first rate. The doors are not crooked and the panels actually line up! |
