What got you into BMWs?
For me, I've had a liking for BMWs ever since I was in high school back in the mid 80's. I remember watching episodes of "Moonlighting" and Maddie Hayes (Cybill Shepherd) drove around in this sweet looking E24 635Csi that looked something like this.
I don't remember what model year it was, but I thought it was a badass car as it looked fast and sleek. As the years passed, I hoped that, one day, I would be able to own a BMW. Today, my dream has come true as I traded my 2003 350Z and now own a 2010 Monaco blue 335i. I'll miss that Z as I had some great road trips and cruises with it, but now I've moved on and driving one of Germany's best. THE ultimate driving machine. Yeah boyeeeee!! So, what's your story? JT

My first BMW was 2005 X3 3.0i, which my mom forced me to drive as a new driver's car... being a teenage at the time whats worst than driving a soccer-mom SUV? I hated the car but as time flew by, I became attached to it. Anyways, I had the chance at the time to drive my cousin's IS300 and VW Jetta and several other cars for comparision.
Needless to say, I now have a E90 335i and my cousin have a E90 330i.

even when i was a little kid i always heard people referring to german cars like there were something special, so since then i always wanted to own one myself, didn't like any Benz in my price range, Audi had terrible lease deals (wasn't that impressed with a test drive or the way i was treated at the dealership), bet fell in love with 335 after a test drive, none of the cars that i test drove even came close to a bmw even during a short test drive

My dad's 3er was the first BMW we bought. He gave me the car to buy an AWD car (ended up being a 530xi Wagon) for the move to Milwaukee.
Now I'm in Milwaukee too and RWD + Winter Tires = awesome fun! |

Opening the door. It's how I get into my BMW every time I drive.
My mom's friend had one when I was young (E36) and I loved it at first site. Became a BMW nut for years before I got my first one!

A lot of my friends had one and my dad has a 1995 BMW 525i so I had a chance to drive one. Then I couldn't resist getting one.

Ironically, the Porsche community. I had 3 vintage Porsches as daily drivers and I wanted to sell them and get something fun to drive but more practical - when I asked for recommendations on a Porsche forum I frequent, BMW was pretty much the unanimous answer.

When I was 15, my dad let me drive his 1984 633CSi. I wish I had something else to compare it to at that age because he sold it before I got my drivers license. I'd wanted a BMW ever since.

My parent's always had one and gave me my mom's E30 convertible when I turned 16.
Don't think I even knew it was a nice car. Then got my second one just because it was a BMW. Got my 3rd because it's pretty. Never cared much about cars until I found this forum. Really the only thing I like about cars is how pretty they are.

When I was in 7th grade. About 11 years ago, my neighbor bought a brand new BMW. They were the only house on the street that didnt have a garage. When I walked to the school bus stop I'd walk by it and I just LOVED how pretty she looked. Been hooked since.

My uncle brought home an E24 BMW back in 1990 and i instantly fell in love with the styling.
I just had no idea BMWs drove so well up until about 10 years ago. I have had 5 since.
