DCT Not until June for the US now
I called a dealer friend today when My Military guy told me BMW confirmed the
DCT today for June..................................... Call your stateside dealer and check please, I know we heard the Coupe first but what I just read says otherwise. I cant scan it right now Hope not but its not looking good.

Based on all of the recent press releases (BMW website) the DCT is in some ways "tied" to the E93. Of course we all know that it will be available on all M3 variants but I do not see any reason to only offer it first on the Coupe. Didn't we even hear officially that DCT is a simultaneous release across models? Sounds like very suspicious information to me and likely incorrect. Could be wishful thinking as well

makes sense. coz BMW said march production (that too limited), which makes it a June delivery.

Actually the dealers are saying June production, so you won't see this gearbox in the uk until late july/august, I supect this is now worldwide with apart from a few inital samples leaking out

at what point do the 2009 models starting showing up? if there isn't a reasonable likelihood of getting an M3 stateside before july/august, that seems to be around the time 2009 models are available. correct?

If it is a July/August delivery date stateside,,, why does BMW not just call it a 2009? I would certainly hate taking delivery on my '08 in July/August and having someone able get an '09 30 days later.
I wonder if this will hurt sales, as they told me early May delivery. I kinda need it by May....

Yeah, but this has been a total wam-up, cool-down, warm-up, cool-down.....etc. love affair. Not sure what phase of that cycle I'll be in at that time.

In that case, I think BMW will launch the M-DCT cars as 2009 models.

Unless you are only keeping the car 1-3 years, it doesn't matter. There will be no other substantiave changes for next year. The label on it doesn't matter too much, IMO.
