GTR>*

Are you fucking stupid, GTR allll theee wayyyyy

You should compare the GTR to the 911 and even if that, I will take the the GTR over it. Unless your talking about the GT3 or Turbo, then thats a different story

Good Luck..

Post pics of which ever car you choose, Dont forget how much the maintenance will cost for ANY porsche. (Tires, Oil change, Brake pads, the list goes on and on....)

Over here in Socal, a brake change for the ONLY the rear brakes for a 996 Turbo is 1,100$ at Rusnak dealer. So think twice..

GTR easily. better performance, better looks (imo) and the GTR seems like it would be more fun to drive. to be completely honest, something about the cayman s just seems soft to me. i know its a true sports car, but it doesnt seem too thrilling. id reconsider if the choice were between a GT3 or even a 997s

Both are great cars but I'll take GTR over Cayman S or Carerra.
Turbo, GT3 and GT2 will be totally different story!

The GTR is no doubt faster...but the Cayman S would probably be more fun to drive. I've only driven a base porsche boxster and even with a wimpy 240hp it's still a blast to drive, the car just has a wonderful feel for the road. I hope to drive a GTR someday, but from what I've read it seems more like a point and shoot vehicle. Besides, I'd get bored without a manual.

if you want power and an easy car to drive, obviously the GT-R.

if you want a car you feel connected to and can actually be a challenge to drive at times all while not minding power, the cayman s.

IMO, drive both and see which you like better. they both have their pros and cons. a 997 would make more sense though.

they both make great DDs and track cars but i think the cayman s will feel more raw on the track. a GT3 feels more raw for sure (IMO) then a GT-R on the track.

and the one year service for the GT-R is $2k so i dont see your point? lets not forget about the tranny fluid along with a whole lot of other things (GT-R has brembo brakes) they both arent cheap to maintain

Yea 2k compared to 1,100 just for rear pads not including front pads, oil change, brake fluid, etc... tires ?

Wouldnt it be cheaper to find better deals on pads for brembos compared to the OEM Porsche pads, not everyone sells it for cheap I would kno..

Dude, at the end of the day they are both expensive for maintenance, so if you ganna drop that much you might as well get the the GTR and have fun, thats my point.

And... yes anyone is fucking stupid to get a cayman over a GTR.

GTR.

Only because Caymans are a dime a dozen. I think they're the better driver's car, and I do think they'd be the better car to own in the long run, but every time I see a GTR it stands out.

That'd be a fun car to own.

Chris,

Two totally different animals, which couldn't be further apart if you tried. I would probably agree with most here and say the GTR would be the better choice.

Just be gentle with the gearbox.
