Turtle Wax Black Detailer

Gotta give a little shout out for this stuff. Works very well. Just thought I would share.

If you drive a jet black like me (or even the jerez) then you know all too well the rigors of keeping this thing clean. I found the product to work really well at making swirls and fine scratches go away. Whoever owned my car previous to me obviously took good care of the paint as I do and I get comments on it all the time. For an '08 I have to say, it looks as if it just rolled off the showroom floor.

No.. Every now and then for a quick detail. But I just might start though. I like the way it goes down.

do you have before/afters? I wonder how well it holds up to the elements and regular washes

Unfortunately I did not take before pics. It was the typical morning dust, overnight dew with some little orange tar/bird dropping bits that are all too common.

Anyway, I simply started spraying and wiping. Product requires a fair amount of buffing with CLEAN microfibers just the same as any spray detailer/waxer.

About 10 min later... there's the pics. ^^

That really looks good..I may give that a shot next tho I think that is formulated for black so not sure how it would do on AW ..for now I have been using the Meguiars really leaves a nice finish..and beads fairly well

That Mequiars IMO is still the best quick detailer on the market for it's ease of use even in full sunlight. The Ultimate Quick Wax is also a stunning product.

When it comes to quick detailers, in my experience:
Meguiars > Mothers

I'm very surprised to see so many M3 owners using such low quality products.
My father once said, 90% of the time in life you get what you pay for.
What do you think you're getting when you buy turtle wax?
These are M3s we're driving, not Civics!

So are there many things wrong with an M3 say, compared to an Aston Martin V12 Vantage?

Also, more often than not, you pay more for a name than you do quality.

Alienware computers, for example. They can be pretty crappy compared to a properly built custom PC, yet somehow they cost thousands more. All because it's got an Alien on it.

If you happen to find a cheaper product that does what appears to be a good job and doesn't cause any damage, what is the harm in that? Not everything that touches the M3 has to be Swissvax...

I actually think that Mother's detailer works a lot better than Megs and Turtle, but I really like Auto Finesse's Finale, it adds a nice touch.

I've been let down many times by Turtle Wax products, but as always, YMMV.

Guy's a snob. I was just trying to make a point.

There is zero damage with the Turtle Wax AND the result is awesome IMO. That's why I was giving it a quick shout out. I'm not saying it's a replacement for other detailing products. Just a great quick detailer.

I just went out and took this shot this morning after another quick wipe down with that oh so evil Turtle Wax product...

Stick that in your Swissvax.

FYI: beads water relentlessly!
