Thumbs up FL: New Owner/Build Thread Melbourne Red E92 M3

Hey guys! My first BMW was a 2009 MR E92 M3 many years ago. I had it for a short while, and then ended up with a bunch of different BMWs over the years. I finally am able to get myself back into the car I've always wanted. Ever since I sold my first one I knew I'd have another. This time I am holding onto this one for a very long, long time.

Here's a picture of my 09 MR E92 M3 many years ago (when I lived in NJ)

I currently have a 335i that will continue to be my daily, while the new M3 will be the ultimate garage queen

I found this M3 in Texas, and I am having it shipped here to Florida. I still have not taken delivery of it yet. Hopefully it'll be here next week!

I had a list of specific features/options that I wanted such as:

- Melbourne Red Metallic
- DCT
- Carbon Fiber Roof
- Preferably black interior
- Preferably LCI

Luckily I found this one that has pretty much everything I wanted

Nice man! Fellow MR e92 owner here. Looking like that leather needs some detailing (especially the steering wheel, quite shiny haha, but may be the pictures). Check out leatherique, easy to apply then you just let it bake in the sun for a day or two which would be easy given your location! Really had my leather looking like new afterwards.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with her, looks exactly like mine when I picked it up, but mine is an 09' so has the pre-lci taillights unfortunately. Maybe I have your old M3, wouldn't that be hilarious haha.

Great I will definitely look into that. I will most definitely be giving the car a full detail. I also will be ceramic coating the car as well (did my 335i last month) and it made a HUGE difference. I sold my M3 to a guy who was living in Atlanta I believe at the time, so if you bought it from down south it might be my old one!

I picked up an OEM modded muffler (looks like the 4 pipe version) and just dropped it off at a local powdercoater to have the tips done in gloss black (did the same thing on my 335). I can't have a quiet car LOL.

I also purchased a gloss black M3 trunk badge. I am on the lookout for some gloss black side marker trims as well. Gotta start with the small stuff before I move on to the bigger stuff

Sunday I installed the black M3 badge and the OEM modded exhaust w/ black tips. The exhaust is still not loud enough for me, so I think I am going to delete the secondary cats in the midpipe.

I do love this car very much.

Hmm, from the pics it looks like the mufflers were cut for the ACM method (Outside mufflers were cut open and not the inner part), which should be the loudest option (louder than 2 and 4 pipe). I wonder if they didn't actually do it properly or did something different.

I would get that re-opened and look at what was changed, if its not done right you can change to the ACM method.

I think I am going to have the secondary cats removed to add a weeee bit more sound. That should be good enough for me.

My red M button came in today lol

My friend also made a pretty sweet M3post sticker for me. Gotta represent!

The black badge looks great. And the color of the car is also fantastic. You have a great car

Not much of an update - on my quest to make this car showroom perfect again, my first step was having the headlights professionally refinished.

This weekend I am having the car paint corrected!

Get ready to be patient! I took me about a year to find my MR in a spec/condition that was up to my standard. Even then, I only ended up with it through a forum member who reached out to my WTB post as his car wasn't for sale.

Well for those of you in the Tampa area, you might know kratos_collection aka Robby. Through word of mouth I found him, and had him complete a paint correction on my M3 this weekend. He does fantastic work, and the car looks great!
