Swaybar Endlinks E92 M3

I'm looking at swapping out the front stock swaybar endlinks with some BimmerWorld endlinks I got with my Moton SS kit. So I have the car apart and the front stock endlinks out and I notice that there is a significant difference in length. The stock endlinks measure about 13.5" and the range of the BimmerWorld endlinks are only 9" to 10.5" (http://store.bimmerworld.com/bimmerw...nks-p1394.aspx) for an E92 M3 with Moton SS. Is this correct that they are so supposed to be much shorter? Any ideas why? Just briefly thinking about it I was thinking that I would need the endlinks to be longer than stock. hummm. I need to think about this more...

Thanks,
Royce M

Royce,

If the Moton SS strut moves the anti roll bar mounting tabs lower(closer to the ground) in comparison to the oem strut then it explains the shorter than oem length adjustable links. One thing to note is depends on how much you lower your car with the coilovers, you might want to consider slightly longer endlinks to get the anti roll bar as close to ideal geometry as possible(you thinking is correct).

Thanks Harold. I forgot about the difference in the mounting ears for the swaybar endlinks on the front Moton's. I did some rough measuring and it turns out that the difference is about 1.5" lower on the Moton's. That makes up a little of the difference but I'm still looking at over 2"+ I have to move the swaybar from the stock position.

I had some time today so I just loosened the swaybar mounts and rotated it so it would reach the shorter links. Sucks that you can't just climb under there, as it seemed to requires the whole front splash shield to be removed to get to the rear most bolts on the mounts.

Here's a pic of the stock vs the moton setup for the swaybar endlinks for reference.

Thanks,
Royce M

Have a look at these....

http://www.hpashop.com/product.sc?pr...categoryId=175

They are available in just about any length and the most popular ones have a length adjustments of 11" to about 12.5". That may be what you need.

I have the Moton SS kit with the Bimmerworld endlinks. I have not had any issues at all. I did not install them myself so cant help there. I am lowered about 3/4" front and rear.

Call the guys at Bimmerworld - they have always been very helpful with any questions I have had.

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. I called bimmerworld first when I noticed the major difference in length and either they were very busy and didn't want to talk or just not very helpful. Didn't get any info other than according to their web site I have the correct pieces and the swaybar shouldn't have to be repositioned.

I have the bimmerworld endlinks installed and drove the car around a little today and it seems like it all works. Only question is if the geometry is ideal with the shorter length. If I get a chance I might try and get some before and after link lengths and swaybar angles to see if there is any major q's.

Thanks,
Royce M

As long as you don't bind your sway bar/link in the absolute max/min positions you should be fine. The proper way to test is to disconnect one side of the sway bar, remove the springs, and jack up/lower your strut to the upper and lower limits of travel.

Links should be longer to get the anti roll bar back closer to its ideal geometry.
