Hey everyone,

I'm embarking on my new journey with the car and that's to expand my journal platform to YouTube!

I would appreciate all of your support in watching, sharing, liking, subscribing, and most importantly offering your constructive feedback!


I'm all in on this YouTube journey and I want to make it a success, where people can feel safe sharing their views, sharing their passion and love for this platform and the car community.

You all will play an integral role in my success on YouTube, and I'm grateful for the same support you've shown here alone on my journal racking up almost 20,000 views thus far.


I will do my part to deliver genuine, honest, and engaging content to you all, and am asking for your support and encouragement throughout this journey.

cinematography is good, but the sound needs work. i can't hear you talk, so i turn the volume up, then i get blasted with loud music in the cut scenes and i have to continually adjust the volume if i want to continue to watch the video.

Thanks for the constructive feedback, Mike. I've since invested some money in some top-notch audio gear to hopefully make the videos better:

1) Sennheiser MXE 2 Gold Series Lavalier Mic to connect to the Rode Wireless Go I already have.
2) Rode Lavalier Go Lavalier Mic plugged into a Zoom H5N External Audio Recorder
3)

I'll have 2 set ups:
1) For the person I'm speaking with, they'll be hooked up to the Zoom H5N w/Rode Lavalier Mic.
2) For myself, I'll have the "Filet-Mignon" set up with the state-of-the-art, Sennheiser MXE 2 Gold Series Lav Mic connected into a Rode Wireless Go.

Also bought some tearaway photography Arctic White paper for a professional backdrop for some nice product shots!


SUPER EXCITING video being filmed this Friday...I have the HOLY GRAIL of M3 Lips arriving, and I'll be showcasing it, amongst many other exciting things going on!

26min is generally a bit long for me but never mind, I liked the video. The actual car/M3 content didn't do much for me this time but you have a smooth and honest style which goes along way in my view. Bit of a struggle to wrap it up in the end but guess a true video guy can never leave the light spot...

Thanks Helmsman for the honest feedback...I'm going to try to get my videos around 10-15 minutes going forward.

I'd like to know perhaps maybe content-wise what you think I could've improved on, as you said you weren't really interested per-say in the car...maybe instead of just showing the parts you would've preferred that they be installed?

A good start Alex. It might make sense to define what exactly your goals are with the car. Will it be a track car? Tuner car? Test bed for aftermarket parts? Will you be dong any of the work yourself, making DIY videos, or will you be having others do all the work?

Lol well Michael I can say that it's not the CRT lip (mine will be the holy grail .5 in that case)

Oh I'm interested in the M3 car(s), but after 7 years ownership reading and watching all there is the video didn't add all that much info, thats all. Personally not big modder myself either and the guys that are probably have fairly good track of that side as well. So not easy to draw attention with new stuff around our beloved old platform, while nicely made videos still are fun to watch. Guess this is where video technique and personality comes in even more. It shall not be easy to please the crowd but again fair start!

I skimmed the video. It's nicely shot! Otherwise it doesn't have much identity. I'd echo Helmsman's sentiments. Old platform, needs something unique other than high end part preview. I'd lose the luxury bits, again doesn't add anything and the idea a e9x is rare or exclusive doesn't resonate. If you're exciting about building a track car and want to share the actual build, decisions, part selection, rationale, vendor convos, etc. That could be interesting!

Best of luck. It's a crowded space, really think on what's missing and how you can deliver it.

Great advice from your previous post...I wanted to do more vlog-styled videos; I do think more detailed videos of certain parts and a video on what the overall objective of the car would be really great!

Unfortunately not, it was a very special request, as he likes to focus on bigger projects like hoods, body panels, etc.
