I've never understood the penchant for Japanese to specify left hand drive cars.... Apparently, it's a status thing. To my way of thinking, it would just be a pain in the ass. |

To aajami and everyone, I'm sorry I'm late.
(I had not checked the PM for a long time.) I didn't know that the height was different between Japanese model and Euro/US model. I noticed by this topic just now. That is a wonderful find!! (This image is when I checked the offset.) But why did BMW change the height? I wonder. Because there is almost no non-paved road in Japan, isn't it? Or because there is the metropolitan expressway like a circuit in Tokyo, isn't it? I think of that - Most Japanese persons are light in the weight. (Actuality, my weight is less than 60kg.) So, when a driver rid in, the down height of the chassis is a few. On the other side, Most European and American persons are ...... So, the down height of the chassis is not a few. Therefore, the down height is same as a result!! BMW designed as it becomes the same height all over the world. (Please don't get angry. It's only a joke.)

Thanks for popping in, Soaristo. Is there any chance that you can PM your VIN number to rldzhao so that he can do the necessary research on our behalf?
Thanks again.

The man makes a good point, BMW engineers knew that north american's are fat asses...
lesson learned? don't get lowering springs or JDM springs, just have another cheeseburger and your car will be riding nice and low in no time! Quote:

update? From reading about the individual line 2010 m3, it looks like that version comes with the same springs as the japanese model.

I believe the originator of this thread just needed a japanese vin in order to have his parts guy order us the japanese springs. If you can PM him the vin he can get the ball rolling on that for the rest of us.

doesn't this have to do with pedestrian safety laws? easier to raise the height of the US spec car than redesign it.
We also have minimum ride height laws here.
