275/35/18 ps4s,

Has anyone tried these? 18 inch came out this year and I've been intrigued by its track performance.

I'm thinking of this or AD08R. Not getting RE71R due to price..

I wouldn't track hard on them unless you're in the wet a lot, then they're pretty magical

The yokohama will hold up a lot better on track but it won't be any faster over one lap - the PS4S have a ton of grip for a short time but they can get into a death spiral of getting hot, sliding too much, getting even hotter etc. IF you're willing to do a warmup-hot-lap-cooldown cycle over and over during a session, time-attack style, the PS4S is pretty good for a true street tire too though I would still choose the yokohama for tracking at or near the limit for the whole session

I'm using the Conti ExtremeContact Sport on my 18x10's in that size - if you're tracking it's a slightly slower, but more consistent tire and just as good in the wet - I was pleasantly surprised with how friendly and session-long predictable they were on track. And they're cheaper than PS4S, at least in the states. If I slid the car around too much they came back after just a couple corners of taking it easy, and they're super predictable and not overly noisy, and didn't chunk at all even though I ran them close to full tread

Are you looking for a dual purpose street/track tire or do you have dedicated track wheels?

Dual purpose I guess it will be OK but there are other options that will hold up better on track. For pure street use the 4S is my favorite tire. They last forever

Yes.

What about PS Cup 2 vs AD08R?

Michelins are cheaper than I expected.

Yes.

My two favorite dual-purpose tires are the Cup2 and the Yokohama A052. They both yield respectable lap times combined with good street manners. Relatively low noise on the street. In my experience the Cup2 lasts a long time as long as you manage the outer edge wear via a lot of front camber on track. A052 has been a little faster but doesn't last as long. However I tracked only on the version 1 A052. They have an updated version now. I just ordered a set but I have not actually tested.

I used the AD08 in the past on the street. Never on the track. On the street it's more noisy and stiffer than the above options IIRC. The A052 is Yokohama's latest offering in this category. I no longer considered the AD08R once the A052 was released.
