Probably! I think sat radio sounds pretty darn poor.

It's about equivalent of a 96kbps MP3 where near CD quality is 320kbps.

Yeah, it's really not great. But it is convenient and easy to use. I haven't been a big audio stramer in my car, but lately I have been experimenting with the SiriusXM app and with Spotify since the update and it does sound better than sat.

Does anyone else experience issues related to their sound/audio/music, cutting in and out? It almost sounds like some kind of interference and happens sporadically and for a split second. I upgraded to the latest software but that didn't seem to help. Starting to think it might be my unit. Might try it in the wired carplay mode to out-rule wireless interference.

I noticed a few drops here and there. It probably is related to WiFi. During testing, I did not notice it doing that if I was using the wired setup.

Audio with the car running has better bass now. That said, it's not enough bass and certain audio songs have hissing/static in the treble range.

Audio phone calls no longer have echos on the recipient side, but he mentioned my voice was very soft. My mic is located on the driver side OE mic area.

Ive installed the kremersino cp box so far everything is fine.

Does anyone know how to force start CarPlay every time I start my engine?

Its an CIC box on a E91 2011 small screen.

Hope anyone can help and is there a site from kremersino to get firmwares?

You can set auto connect in the main Kremersino settings interface.

There's no site for firmware updates, but if you email Michael at Kremersino (michael@kremersino.com), he'll send you the latest.

If you guys can complain about the audio to them, that would give them feedback that this is a problem. It definitely sounds like the module is repurposed for multiple cars based on the dipswitches so our feedback is important..since we are basically "beta" testing this product. I voiced my opinion I want a fix or I want a refund.

Same here. If the sound quality doesn’t improves soon I’ll ask for a refund.

Unfortunately my auto connecting has stopped working correctly again, had the wireless CarPlay freezing, dropping out and refusing to connect again this morning.

Once again switched back to wired CarPlay in the interim...

I'm on iOS 13.0 beta 8? It has been connecting fine.

The wireless skips once awhile on the audio, but holy crap the audio static is starting to get annoying.

I’m on whatever the latest 13.0 beta is, haven’t done the 13.1 beta update.

Was working fine the last few times since i update the box, but got in this morning, connected fine, then on the drive started to wig out. Couldn’t get it to wirelessly reconnect after that. Tried rebooting the CarPlay box from factory settings, didn’t try rebooting the phone though.

I spoke with Michael this past weekend:

They are working on another update to fix the soft mic issue. I'm trying to gather details if they are trying to address the static/clarity from the streaming audio or not.
I expressed my frustration with the lack of clarity from the unit. Most likely requires hardware changes
He mentioned they are going to revert to the PCB design from the wired JoyAuto version that I have in my brother's E90D.
He said the components are more expensive but did not mention how much more or if it is going to cost anything to swap mine out.

Sounds like they will issue me a software update and then..go from there. Beta testing sucks when you didn't sign up for a beta. The module is definitely one of those universal ones that is having issues with MOST systems like our CIC.

Michael mentioned on 8/27 that he was working on another update, but I haven't received it yet. Calls over carplay still sound terrible with lots of background noise.
