It is going to fall under G-Prepared. I'm an instructor for NJ, NY and DelVal chapters. So I'll run mostly with the "east coast" BMW Clubs. I'll do some NASA events as well. Missed RA, shooting for Mid Ohio, or COTA in a few weeks. I'll end up doing VIR and Lightning towards the summer. Last year I instructed 25+ events. Did roughly 65 days testing and tuning. So, hopefully that pays off. The electrical were certainly a handful, but the car is pretty simple believe it or not.

What year is your ///M3 the one you converted to a pure race car?
It is a 2008. Was bought new, in 2008 and turned into a HPDE / AutoX car right away. It was stripped and modded last year. January of this year the final cage design and stripping occurred.

What is sketchy about the door bar? It is within NASA and BMW Club Race spec. Dimensions are appropriate, mount points are legal and as required. The only difference from vertical short bars, is an X-Design to allow for a slight slope for ease of entrance and exit. Height is appropriate as to position of the seat and driver position.

That is more track time than I have seen in the past 4 years combined! 25 events is like half of the weekends in a year. That's more than most pros see! The seat time will pay off quickly. You are used to slower traffic already from running with the Destructor group and that's half the battle. I race an IP car, #9. I hope to see you out on track. Good luck!

ps - I should have said you would be a B-mod, not D, if you went the mod route.

Well, benefits of being a business owner. However not my first rodeo. Been doing it a while. I average 30 days a year at least. My mini vacations if you will. Where do you race mostly?

I live just outside of Charlotte, NC so I have great access to the Southeast tracks: VIR, Road Atlanta, Barber and Roebling.

I was actually thinking about doing more DE's and less racing just to get out on the track more. Just throw on a set of Nittos, detune the engine for pump premium, kick back and blow the doors off of cars with double the power

You should explore ITS and become an instructor. Gives you a lot of seat time with students and intensifies your senses. Really helps clean up bad habits.

And here lies the problem in which most 335, 1M and proponents of a new turbo f80 m3 do not quite get. How much value does that glorious sound have on a day to day part of the drive? The visceral response it creates and the pure pleasure it gives you to listen to that every single time you drive the car is worth soooo much more to me than a car with more low-end torque as everyone says. I would take an m3 with a v8 anyday.

People underestimate what impact sound has on driving pleasure and face it, 99 percent of buyers buy it for day to day pleasure, not a race track. With that in mind, why that is never mentioned or hardly mentioned in talks about why turbos will really eviscerate the m3 on some level is beyond me!

Thank you all for the kudos. This weekend we finalized the interior of the car. Fire Suppression went in, battery kill switch installed and mounted, all bars are padded, nets are connected and interior is all cleaned up. Thanks to Off Camber Motorsports for their hard work on getting it done. I will post some pics in a bit.

Waiting for upgraded suspension to ship. Thanks to Ground Control / MCS out of California for the sponsorship and goodies. I will post before and after pics once received and during install.

First track day is this coming Monday 3.18.13 at NJMP. Then off to Mid-Ohio, first weekend of April. Many more pics to come. Again, thanks for all the kudos.

A quick (horrible quality) video of just dusting off the cob webs. Up my .5 mile driveway this past weekend..
