I'm impressed with the top end torque and how it does not drop off as drastically as other stroker dyno like below.

If they made 304s that accept Vanos I'd consider them as I think there is more to be had, but I'm not willing to lose Vanos to gain hp.

I think people are scared to re-time their motors if they rip off the heads which I don't blame them. Sending S65 heads off to be ported/polished and cam install would be nice to see for stock bottom end guys looking for more NA power.

Well done to all who contributed to this build...you guys really knocked it out of the park with this one!!
For all the N/A fanatics out there, I believe these are finally the numbers we've all been hoping (no praying!) are achievable from the S65. Let's hope it can withstand track abuse. I guess the stroke/bore/wrist pin size/rod type etc will all determine this. This has certainly aroused a 'stir' in me! Again, well done guys!! 👌 |

Revving to 8500 helps get more air in and out of 4.6L. Makes at least the top end power more like what a 6.2L can do at lower rpm. Obviously still can’t have the low end power of a 6.2L.

It's still at 8600rpm, although it wasn't dyno'd further than ~8100 as you see from the charts. It was hot and humid in Long Island and the car spent half a day being dyno'd continually with a substandard fan
When it cools down we'll do some 8600 pulls to see if it can make any more power. Last night we had a engine build celebration and the builders still think there's more to be had, but we'll see. I'm happy as is, it feels infinitely more engaging than the F80 CS as you can imagine. |
