I'm probably one of the few here that did not pay cash for the M3.
That's still a very expensive car for someone who makes $25 per hour. I make much more than that and don't feel like I make enough to buy a brand new M3.

I don't think "sucks" is really the correct word. Its more about reality, and if you are spending more on a car than you make in a year, you are certainly neglecting other financial responsiblities and in the long run that always catches up to people.

Your assumption is wrong...The only debt that we have is our house and the m3. Everything else is montly bills. No credit cards. ..
I am 24yrs old and own a 2013 m3..there is nothing neglected about my financial responsabilities..

You're not doing our generation any favors with the text-message spelling

However, that first sentence leads me to believe you're on the red team, so I'll let it slide

What he said was his salary would be 3x your salary, not your car was 3x your salary.

You guys generalize and analyze way too much. Three times your salary this......large down payment that.....! Everybody walks in different shoes, lives a different lifestyle, has a different cost of living, has different priorities, very few to no obligations, etc. There are no hard and fast rules to car ownership. Geez!
