It's one of those uncontrollable urges we get when we get in our car, but yes I do urge moderate driving or even spirited. I was in the south west last year and I had the opportunity to drive through route 66 with a bunch of M fanatics and car aficionado. We were cruising at 60 to 80 and random fly by's and really just appreciate the ride...

Dudes used to race their cars up and down the Ave and cops would show up all the time. I stopped going cuz i didn't want to get more tickets than i was already getting at the time... Maybe we can forewarn people not to act a fool lol...

Yeah i hear that! sounds like fun. Maybe we'll do some sort of joy drive from NJ to NYC and take over times square for a bit... We'll all get plenty of attention (the good kind lol)

To anyone who is interested, there is usually a gathering at the old obi parking lot along ocean parkway, long island every sunday morning. It starts fairly early. Theres a mix of everything from old corvettes to sls benzes/ferraris. I havent been able to make many this year, but I frequently take that road to commute in the morning, including sunday, and there have been a few that looked very good.

why not just go to a BMW club autocross day, you don't have to run in the event.. but the lots are specifically rented for the day for cars so no one would care that u've got a bunch of m3 drivers checking out each other's cars.

nybmwcca.org, there's actually an event running this sunday at Nassau Coliseum. big lot with tons of space. make sure you don't go into the grid area where the cars that are about to race, go. also 5mph once you're near all the parked cars as there are always cars on the move and there are people and little kids that may be walking through the area.

autocross events usually happen on Sundays and sometimes saturdays also, they start at about 7:30am and end around 3-5. If anyone ever asks what you're doing there, just tell em you heard about an autocross event and wanted to check it out.

I think I'm gonna check out that OBI meet in Long Island on sunday but regardless, I'd like to get a bimmer meet going. I used to go to the burgers & beemers meets in cali, would be nice to get something like that going here.

Yessir! and we need to do it soon before winter strikes!!!
I'll start a new thread in 2 or 3 days and propose a meet for sunday the 14th and i'll make a list on there as more people add themselves to the thread. Just gotta figure out where to meet so maybe i'll give a few options and feel it out and see what the majority proposes... Should turn out well, we shall see...

WEEKLY BMW Meet on Thursdays in Douglaston NY !

What's up guys.

Some of you know about the Mazda meet in Douglaston NY, by the Toys R Us. Mazda guys meet up there every week with 30+ people. There is MORE than enough room for other cars and brands etc.

Every Thursday starting around 8PM

Douglaston Pkwy & 61st Ave, Queens, New York 11362
Parking lot infront of the Macy's and Toys'R Us

It's a huge parking lot that has many light poles. It's got huge room and is nowhere near any residential homes. It's a pretty remote spot and Cops don't bother anyone. They may occasionally drive by to make sure no one is doing anything stupid but they don't hassle anyone simply because it's so remote.

Some guys bring their own foldable chairs etc to just chill. It's a nice spot to check out each others cars and no one will bother you when you want to show off your exhaust!

I made this thread to try and keep refreshing it so people can see this.

For the week of 10/04/2012 we already should have about 10 M's attending, as long as people don't have anything come up.

See you guys Thursday !
