Hey Mo,

Couldn't make it to the last meet, but hopefully i can for this one...anyhow how does this route sound like?

West on HWY 1, when we see the turn off to HWY 68 we take that route to Barrie Lake on Kananaskis Trail Hwy 40. We can stop at Barrier Lake for photos and a leg stretch.

From wiki: Alberta Provincial Highway No. 68,[1] also named Sibbald Creek Trail, is a highway in central Alberta, Canada, west of the City of Calgary. In the west, Highway 68 begins at its intersection with Highway 40 and ends at Highway 1 (Trans-Canada Highway) approximately 17 km (11 mi) west of Highway 22 (Cowboy Trail). It is provides an alternate route to Kananaskis Country.

After which a drive to Kananaskis Lodge for lunch at either the following:

Bighorn Lounge
Woody’s Pub and Grill
The Fireweed Grill

After that back into Calgary…

Thoughts?

Sorry guys,

I have been extremely busy at work as june is the worst month for us.

SiRR, this route seems like to be a nice one. Are there large enough parkings that we can stop on the way? I have never done this drive, so I am totally interested!

No worries,

Had a wedding in Banff this past weekend, so on the way back I decided to check out the route I mentioned, from Kananaskis Trail - Hwy 40 onto Hwy 68...

Unfortunately, the route is not paved - gravel road So that is out of the question in trying that route out...it would have been a nice route if it was paved...oh well, sorry guys!

Ricky

Hey Ricky,

Thanks for checking the road out, so that one is out. Anyone else has any other suggestion?
