Slon-workshop: DCT oil pan GROUP BUY

Hello and welcome in this thread.
This thread is for Group buy of our DCT oil pan.

Quote:
Our pan CNC machined from billet aircraft aluminum.

- A LOT better cooling, compared to OEM plastic pan or most aftermarket pans. 10mm height thinnest fins (more cooling surface).

- Anti starvation walls inside. No more transmission warning lights on track days (low pressure, when oil goes away from suction pipe)

- More oil volume. This pan has maximum height which You can fit without underbody cover cutting/removing. This height adds additional 0.8ltr compared to OEM pan volume.

- Oil pump suction pipe spacer! With this spacer fitted, suction pipe fits on new lowest point of the pan. Similar to our DCT pan, spacer also CNC machined from aircraft aluminum.

- Additional stiffness to DCT case. This DCT pan fits without oem gasket, which uses on OEM plastic one (and can't compensate curvature on bended plastic pan after been overheated), so this aluminum pan works together with DCT main case after tightening and adds a lot stiffness to it. For usability, we make some small channel for sealant.

- Set of new stainless steel bolts included.
More info and discussion in main thread:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1419526

Base price for the pan is 1200$ (incl delivery) plus 100$ for optional anodizing.

Cause production of large quantity parts is more cost-effective, we can offer better prices.
Special group buy's offer:
950$ per set, incl anodizing and ems delivery, from 5 sets.
850$ per set, incl anodizing and ems delivery, from 10 sets.

(no unanodized dct pan kits participate in group buy, anodized only!)

That would be great, this way no one uses the wrong product.

Any additional information you provide as to how this is applied would be very helpful

Just curious, of the people ordering, how many of you currently have leaky oem pans? I'm asking because mine isn't leaking but thinking of buying it to avoid potential future leak. Thanks!

Mine isn't leaking from what I can see however my car was consistently going into limp mode or severely delay upshifts last year at the track. I usually couldn't finish a session without this happening. The previous year I never had it happen, however I also wasn't driving the car as hard. It should be noted that I also started driving my second season with TC off and had Alex due a GTS tune on the DCT.

I have been looking at this mod for awhile and I am hopeful it resolves my issue and prevents leaks!

Yeah, things change as you go driving harder

This plus the do88 cooler should solve all problems!

Currently I'm driving hard (top group at PCA) for an hour at a time with only the do88 cooler and have yet to experience an issue shifting, however, it's bound to happen. I'm not running slicks so the DCT must heat up but not enter starvation mode.
I'm running OEM GTS software which is more aggressive than the aftermarket ones.

My pan always has a wet look to it. I've always sort of ignored it. And I have been experiencing double upshifts---where I pull the paddle once to go from 3rd to 4th, but the car shifts from 3rd to 4th to 5th---for several years. The tranny limp mode where you see the gear icon is a more recent phenomenon which I attribute to more aggressive driving. I'm running Pirelli DH most of the time now.

The sad fact is that double-upshifts and/or transmission warning icons have occurred on pretty much every personal best---meaning those laps could have been faster without the issues.

It is a very frustrating day when you commit to expensive new tires and then the cherry high grip laps on those tires are ruined by shifting issues.

So, this is my first big step to finally trying to do something about it. I just did a round a general maintenance to the tranny replacing filters and this and that, and it seemed to help. But I want this pan now to see if I can really just put this silly issue that's been bugging me for years behind me.
