Definitely poweful enough to do photo editing. Get yourself a nice macbook pro! Also, check out the apple education discount, it'll save you a few hundred bucks if they're still running promotions!

Check out this deal I stumbled across this morning. Probably a scam but if not, you could flip this and have an easy $20K to play with...

i'm sure it's a scam, but i always wondered how they'd pull this kind of shit off. who writes a check for 25,000, or even 5,000 without being to able to see what they're paying for? i signed, picked up the key, and drove off!

unfortunately, i can't call myself a student anymore, but i'll see if i can work something out. i always use the education discount when possible...are the iMacs any good? like the 27" quad core - are laptop i5/i7 CPUs different from the ones used in desktops? i'm a total noob when it comes to macs but photoshop and lightroom are just more intuitive on a mac...

if macbook pro, why i do i have to get the top of the line 15" AND pay an extra 150 bones to get the anti-glare screen? fucking steve jobs!

is there a good site to get the real dig on macs e.g. heat issues, type of screen panel (TN vs S-IPA etc), battery life, etc?

You mean you wouldn't wire the money to the seller who happens to be vacationing in beautiful Nigeria?

Amazingly, I still see reports in the paper where someone has sent money to Nigeria (or some other third world place) for some crazy reason or another (usually it's received and oversize check and needed to send some of the money back).

Looking to get rid of my Remus race exhaust. Anyone wanna swap out their OEM muffler? Unfortunately I gave my OEM away 2 years ago.

Probably easiest if we meet at a specified muffler shop either in SA or Austin or somewhere in between and do the swap. The Remus Race is just a bolt on. It requires cutting off your OEM. The trick is to get your OEM back on my car. I doubt its too hard of a job.

Why don't you take his oem exhaust and connecting pipes? That way he can have your old oem connecting pipes + remus exhaust. I think that would be the easiest

I've heard the remus race in person before, it sounds really good! I like it a lot, I was even about to place my order on it but I changed my mind at the last minute and wanted the eisenmann. You'll love it! I hope your girl likes loud cars because it's quite a few dBs louder than oem! Does she make long drives ? It drones a bit, but once again, sound is subjective!

Definitely. Once you hear it in person, you can decide for yourself!

Hard to beat the sound and performance bump you get from Remus Race for the price imo. I personally liked the sound allot as it's a very F-1 sounding exhaust to me.

Always puzzled about the dreaded "drone" comments as every aftermarket e9x exhaust i've ever heard including my Dinan drones allot more than oem to me.

California Dreamin

I had to go to California for a while because of family. I took a day off while I was there and drove the Stage 5 route of the 2010 Tour of California. About 80 miles of the 118 mile stage was in the foothills of the Sierras. Much of which was very good pavement, and all of which was lightly traveled the day I drove it. More pictures and comments are posted here: http://www.dfwautoclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5412 if you are interested.

Trip to Fredericksburg

Before the trip to California, my wife and I took a weekend trip to Fredericksburg with (hold on....) a small Dallas Region Mercedes Benz Club group. The tour was more about the stops than the driving. Anyway, we stayed at the Hanger Hotel in Fredericksburg which is quite nice (but not inexpensive). Among the stops was the Mandola Estate Winery near Driftwood which has beautiful grounds. Yes, we took the M3. It attracted much more attention when we stopped than the MB's.
