Legal Tint!!!!

k so I had a Dr. appointment today for my migranes. I went in and he pulled up my records since I was 11! he's talking to me about what causes them and whatnot. he mentions the sunlight can cause it, so I tell him I had my windows tinted and I got a ticket for it. and he says "I can write you a note and you just take it to court!" so I said really? how dark can I do it legally? he says as dark as you need. So he wrote the note and now I'm going to get some tint all around except windshield I already removed my tint because it was pretty light and I wasn't too happy with it.

How dark should I go?...
I had 35% all around but it seemed pretty light. but then again it was cheap tint. If I get quality tint it should be darker at that %.

I would look into this if I were you. I get headaches also and I went through the same process. When I got a ticket, I showed the cop the Dr note/prescription and he said that in California, that doesnt matter. Any tint is illegal. I went to court and the judge agreed with me because of my headaches, dismissed my ticket, but he did make it a point that a Dr prescription WILL NOT stop you from getting a ticket

Yeah I was told by another police man *not the ticketor* he actually advised the Dr. note. he said Even with the note I might get the ticket but just take it to court. takes a little time but I keep my tint. no loss in my mind considering I'd tint it anyways

Same here. And you might get off a little easier in SB or Ventura counties with such a petty ticket

35% all around would be my vote. Go with F1 Pinnacle Ceramic, it's awesome.

Yeah, 1989, you need to do at least 15. BUT....PM meif you choose to go with F1 Pinnacle. I started a thread many months ago about the F1 dealer in our area (I live in Ventura) and he did SIGNIFICANT damage to my car ($3500) . I ended up going down to Orange County to Tint Plus to have mine done.

Wait a sec, endofanera....arent you moving down here to SoCal soon??

F1 Pinnacle is ceramic. One of the only tints out there that wont mess with the electronics of the vehicle. I.E alarm, Nav, etc. Not that all other tints will, but it has been proven that some tints can. Lifetime warranty is good also. Many other forum members in here have F1

Look for my thread if you want, you'll see pics of the damage.

Sun Dimmers for F1 Pinnacle

I had F1 Pinnacle put on my GTI just a few months before I decided to order a new M3. I went to Sun Dimmers in Santa Clarita, and they did a great job on the car. I went with 50 on the fronts and 35 in back. Pinnacle is great for keeping a car cool in the Southern California sun.

LA cops make me nervous. I don't want to give them a reason to approach my car with a weapon drawn just because they can't see me through the rear window when I get pulled over. Plus I think it's unsafe when you can't see through the car in front of you to the next guy in traffic. Just my opinion. . .

Cheers!
