Apparently mine's affected now, after verifying its not a few months back. Guess someone changed his mind regarding this?

My car is booked in for regular service after Easter holiday. Let's see how dealer reacts with this recent appeared recall. I will post my experience here.

I spoke to my dealer, 117,000 vehicles confirmed requiring replacement airbags. They have a shipment coming in but date is yet to be confirmed. They took my name/number to call me when the airbags arrive.

I called my local dealer and the service desk checked their system and confirmed there is no recall on my vehicle "at this time". They could not say why my VIN showed up 2 days ago and not today. It was suggested I register my contact details with BMW Australia (as the current owner) in case there is a recall in the future. That's probably good advice that applies to most of us. Thought I'd share that. Change of detail form available here > http://www.bmwsydney.com.au/com/en/o...tails_Form.pdf

Apparently all are affected but will be prioritised according to age and so later ones will be done later. They will all need to be done eventually.

So just an update about the recall issue as I just got my car back from service.
Dealer said they have noticed this issue. A few customers booked in service for this recall but at the time they arrived their cars disappeared on the list, like what we have seen. They suggest to wait for the final release of the recall list and they are now keeping eyes on it. Probably someone from internal released the information while it's not finalised. |

Apparently F8x are on the recall list now too - I was advised this morning by my Westcoast BMW dealer over here in P-town. BMW don't have the replacement parts just yet though so it will be a bit of a wait.

Ok.... So fishy it is! Just got off the phone with BMW and they confirmed my vehicle is in fact subject to a FUTURE recall for the passenger side airbag! They couldn't tell me when a letter will arrive but apparently one will be sent... eventually. Talk about reassuring!!!
