Anyone with a 2012-2013 wish they waited for the M4?

I have a 2013 and love the car...except that it's starting to look really old and dated compared to everything else on the road. Saw the M4 driving today and it looked awesome. Kind of regret not waiting but if I traded it in now I would lose big time.

You're one of the few that think that. So. Go sell your M and buy a 435 err I mean m4.

I have a 2013. My friends/family all love my car, and i get complements all the time. Just yesterday i was at the tire shop. the guy said you must get a lot of comments on that car. I do look at my car at times and see its getting dated. Thats the one of the reasons i wanna get into something else. people seem to love it though.

The F80 is more updated looking car . BUT i just cant stand the way it sounds.

I understand your point and I am of the opinion that if you can afford it, drive what makes you happy.

For me, that is my E90. Love the E9X and it's design!

Nope, I saved way too much purchasing by 2012 used. It would have been over double for the new model.

When I see one, I do feel like my 2012 (4 months owned) looks a bit dated. I think the ZCP wheels help it look less so though. Added a set of lux V5 today (thanks Santa) and it makes the front seem vastly newer.

Simple- Keep it until the LCI.
No way I'd pay that much and not get LED tail lights.

the new m3/m4 sounds like my stihl chainsaw - not exactly what a sports car should emote...

I don't really think it looks dated. I think it is a timeless form. I am probably one of the few here who feel that way. If you feel it looks dated then do some add ons, a CF lip, change the lights, wheels, lower, etc. I hate the front end on the new cars and there is no replacement for the V8 sound. Until the tuners crack the ECU for unlimited top end I would never buy a new model. In the end, it is your money and ride so do whatever you can afford.

E9x looks dated? Dah fuq?

Do us a favor, sell that car and go buy yourself a new M3/4. Let someone who appreciates the E9x have it.

It makes more sense for me to lease a F80 M3 because I am self employed, but I ended up with E92 M3 Competition Package and I am loving it!

There is always something newer and better about to come out. If you keep waiting for it, you will be driving your old car forever. Got to jump in sometime and accept your decision. If having the newest and best car is really important to you, sell yours and buy what you want. You will spend a lot, but maybe it will make you happy.

"except that it's starting to look really old and dated compared to everything else on the road" While opinions are like... and you may feel this way, I do not see this at all and I came back to a 2012 M3 from a 2014 M235i.

Money aside (and if you can afford buy what you want not what us jerks tell you); if you want more torque, better fuel economy, a higher resolution nav screen, better cup holders and a longer warranty, buy the F80, but be prepared to give up the uniqueness of the V8, better sound, more balanced power, thigh extender, lower insurance, 30k from your bank, and imho, a better exterior look (less smooshed face, less like its siblings the 4XXi)

While I have not drive one yet I have sat in one and it is very nice, but not 80k nice to me. In fact, I would wait to see what the M2 looks like before making any decision.

Love my E92, imho I don't think the E9x looks dated at all or for that matter ever will, it has a stance & sound like no other in it's class! To be honest I still like the look of the E46 the interior looks dated however the exterior still has sex appeal!

They're only two cars that would make me give up my E92 M, a 991 GT3 or an Audi R8......

If openings that run through the body lines on the hood, artificial engine sound, and fart can exhaust are all part of the future, count me out!

Just kidding. Saw the new one driving around and thought it looked awesome too. I just didn't enjoy my test drive enough to justify buying one. Maybe you should check one out and see if it suits you better.
