New to MFlight
Hello everyone,
I just took delivery of my '12 Interlagos Blue M3 Coupe a couple of weeks ago. Will and George at Pentagon Car Sales were great, and Peter at Autohaus Euler was amazing. I'm new to MFlight (and M cars in general) but this has been a dream of mine for a long time. I'm be needing the 1200 mile service soon and was told to buy the 9 quarts of 10W60 ahead of time, or risk getting burned at the dealer. A couple folks on the forum mentioned getting it at ATU- can anyone tell me where (or what) this is? Or any other suggestions on where to pick some up? Thanks! Patrick |

ATU is the acronym for Auto-Teile-Unger which is a German car parts store along the same lines as JC Whitney. Keep your M away from there... Plus, you would pay some really stupid price for the oil. Think about how much a gallon of euro gas goes for... ya... So, go to the AAFES Car Care Center on base and get them to either order you a case or they may have it on hand. A lot of the CCC on the installations here are carrying 10w60 due to the large amount of M3 on the road now... And fairly so as they charge from $12-14per quart which is a decent price but $$$ nonetheless... Anyway, welcome to the M family, enjoy Germany in your autobahn cruiser, stay safe, and thanks for serving the good ole US of A!

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know AAFES could order "specialty" oil. They seem to have a hard time keeping the 5W30 I need for my wife's SUV on hand, but I'll check to be sure. This break-in period is killing me, but I'm following all the rules. Can't wait to let this baby loose for real.....

Nice ride! M-DCT?
I asked at the Ramstein BX car desk and they just happened to have a case of the TWS 10w60 in the back room. So bought all of it for less money than I would have paid for it back in Canada. Win! It brought my 1st service cost down to 130 Euro at Landstuhl Euler. I have M-DCT so if you have a 6-sp Manual, it will cost you a little more (Tranny oil change only for 6-spd, not DCT)... Enjoy - maybe see you at one of the (many) upcoming M-Flight events! SF

Congrats on your new car. You made the right choice ! M3 V8 is already a ///M legend with its super design and epic engine (last n/a ///M engine)
Carbon Roof is a great choice. As for the first service, I just got mine done a few weeks ago. They make the oil service, brake fluid, and differential oil services. Some people also had experienced a transmission fluid service, but a number of them had problems. My dealer did not apply a transmission service to my car. And please find a trustful dealer to take your car to service

Here is the best place to buy Castrol TWS 10w60 motor oil. 11 euros per liter. The will ship to any German (off post) address.
