Anyone ever give any thought to owning a Viper?
Huge normally aspirated power, incredible grip and handling, beautifully crafted interior, high level of exclusivity. Sounds like a winning formula to me.

The new vipers are fantastic! For the price, it may be the best bang for the price out there considering the new z06 looks terrible, doesn't have as nice an interior as the viper, and is over 100K.

I was really thinking of getting one until I drove it. Now the power and suspension are fantastic but the seating position is horrible. I am only 6'-1" and with the seat in the lowest position I have to bend down to see our of the car clearly. For me this was the deal breaker and is sad that such a fantastic machine is ruined by this.

I have always thought the Viper was pretty badass. Weird thing is i really only heard negative things about the sound of the engine. lots of reviewers say for a big N/A V10 engine, shockingly doesn't sound as good as some think. I think the Z06 sounds way better.
everything else about the car is great, and i would love to own one. although i think its the type of car that isn't going to be daily driven. Last edited by Ezio; 11-30-2014 at 01:25 PM.. |

I've had a thing for Dodge Vipers ever since they came out. Any of you guys remember the original Need for Speed video game? That was my first taste of the car and have always loved that V10 sound ever since
Personally, I think I'd pick the Viper before the C7 Vette, even though I know the Vette is a better car.

z06 is a better track car for sure. Almost never see vipers on the track for some reason, just know one guy from track days with red viper ACR.
He is a good driver but he told me that he does not want to push it to the limit, because they are difficult to control despite of huge rear rubber he has-F-305/R-345 MPC He is faster than my modded 135i, but not by much. |

There's a big thread going on over in the M4 forum where it looks as if Divex, who is a very big car guy and used to have one of the fastest 911 turbos has a Viper and from the data doesnt look like the new z06 will touch it in a straight (viper ta trapped 132 mph stock) and or on the track.
I'd take a viper any day over a vette. |

Two members raced a new Z vs Viper TA. The Viper pulled it in 3rd and 4th. Not good for all the build up and hype surrounding this car. I used to have a Z06 and have been following the new Z very closely. |
