Does anyone know if it's safe in the case of a roll over to run fixed back seats and a schroth quickfit pro harness without a rollbar/rollcage? I'm assuming the belts would allow you to fall towards the center of the car in a roll over if it is designed to be used for the oem safety system and I also can't see an issue with a fixed seat preventing you from forwards movement. Any input?

I wouldn't run a harness without at least a half cage. I don't think a lot of clubs will allow you to either.

Good job man. That z28 was horrible though. Wish I had that power lol

I think quick fit pro since it has anti sub and gives just a little slack is ok.

And besides in a roll over a modern car is not gonna cave in.

Saw an Evo X roll forward a couple times at buttonwillow (beginner driver with gf at phils hill) and his a pillars pretty much did not even crumble at all. I couldn't even tell who the driver was in the crowd because he was calm and wasn't beat up.

Now in a barrel roll situation I would want a full cage but we aren't crashing at 200 mph.

thanks. he definitely wasn't as fast through the corners, but certainly pulled away in the straights. i'm not terribly impressed with those z28's.

i'm sure in the hands of someone that can really wring out all the car's potential, they are bananas. i talked to that guy with the z28 and he had some work done to it like cams, and a tune (it sounded amazing). so he had a bit more power than stock. that thing really walked away from me on the straights- thats for damn sure. i'm sure with ditching some weight and a great driver they are even more impressive.

You'll be fine. Schroth QFP has an Anti-submarine module (ASM), which allows body movement like an OE seat belt in the event of a collision.

The claim that the harness will not let you tuck your head during rollover/roof collapsing is bullshit IMO. If your car is rolling, how the hell are you actively going to think about, and carry out, a head tuck? Bigjae made a good point about factory folding seats possibly breaking after an incident, causing the body to flop around, so I would prefer a fixed back seat over OE.

Edit: Guys, need help. Do y'all think these NT01s can last a day (6-8 24 minute sessions) AND allow me to drive 120 miles back home without cording? I'll be at TWS fwiw and assume it will be hot that day. The depth measuring holes are gone.

If the depth measuring holes are gone, I think they will cord the next time you go out. No way will they last more than 2-3 sessions if you are pushing them hard.

Because of that line near the edge? I've seen what cording Hoosiers look like, but I've never seen corded NT01s nor have I ever corded my own tires.

Fawk. I might have to cancel my event then. I only have one spare NT01. This is what I started with before my weekend event about three weeks ago (left in front, right in rear). The ones with more wear were flipped on rim because they had excessive inside wear.

Anyone here running Brembo GT brakes for track? Do you need to double pump to get full pedal pressure?

Yeah that line on the left side in that bottom pic does look like cording but I'm not a hundred percent sure you're going to have to double check it. It could be an optical illusion. But like Alex said, if the holes are gone I might be worried.

Ah, gotcha. What you're seeing is not cords. That's just the part of the tire that doesn't make contact with the ground during street driving. The contact patch is clean because I moved the car around in my driveway while it was raining before putting it on jack stands.

I'm gonna try to source another tire, and if I can't by end of tomorrow, I may just cancel. Maybe I could temporarily mount my extra Michelin tire, along with the extra Nitto, if I cord, hmm.

Harness bar no. But the roof of an 80s crx compared to a 2000s Bmw. Of course not.
