2007 E92 M3 Clutch Spring Swap (To 2009+ Version)

So as I slowly get used to my new M3 and the "different" feeling clutch...

I was able to find this:

The left is the "old" version of the clutch spring (which my vehicle will have seeing as its a 2007).

The right is the updated (2009+ I believe) clutch spring.

John@BMW mentions ( http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...8&postcount=18 ) that switching to the new spring gave the clutch a more linear feel.

So I went ahead and ordered the new spring, its only 10 bucks.

This is what I ordered (not from ECSTUNING, but same part #):

Did I order the correct part?

I know some people say to just get rid of it all together, but I read from a number of posts with the spring completely removed you get a bit of play on the clutch pedal and the first 1-2 cm gets a bit "loose".

Should I just get rid of it all together, or replace with this upgraded one?
