Looking for a bike rack for my e92 M3!

Anyone out there have a bike rack on their e92? Looking for a good one to transport my track bike.

If you guys have any recommendations post them here! I only need to transport one bike so something simple and not too expensive would be awesome!

Picture of bike in question incase any of you guys are into that haha --

I use my old car to transport my mountain bike so can't comment specifically about the e92. I would assume you need the BMW rails and cross bars. Not sure what shape the crossbars are but the Yakima frontloader bike tray is versatile and will fit onto most of the different shaped bars; round, factory, etc. I've been happy with this tray and an added bonus is that it secures your bike via the wheels as opposed to touching the frame of the bike. Not sure if this helps you.

I have the OEM roof rack but I find it much easier with my road bike to just take off the wheels and throw it in the trunk. If I need to transport the mountain bike, then I will use the roof rack. Luckily the OEM roof rack is fairly easy to remove/install. You don't want to keep the roof rack installed all the time. There is a lot of wind noise on the highway.

While the OEM rack is easy to install/remove, it's noisy when driving and my MPG takes a 1-2 hit. It's easy enough to take the front wheel off, lower the folding rear seats and slide the road bike in rear wheel first. I have a wheel bag to carry the front wheel so that the spokes don't bounce off the frame.

Here's my latest bike:

With the bike rack fund, I would probably buy late 80s Civic/Corrola or Accord/Camry to haul your cycle.

BTW, nice bike. I did some quick hw on Bianchi bike on the website while looking for Bianchi Holster website.

While I have used the E92M to transport my bike, I previously used the E46 M3 to move my bike around. I have both mountain and road and just took off the front tire and mounted the bike on the roof. I have a Thule rack. Started using it on a Subaru and it currently on a Jeep. All I had to do when moving it from car to car was change teh footpacks. When I had it mounted to the E46 M3, i didn't get wear where the footpack hits the body, but I did keep a good coat of wax on that car.

Hope that helps.

Is there a particular reason everyone seems to go with the OEM rack and not a Thule or Yakima?

Check out the link below; it is for a removable trunk mounted rack. I've used this system for years without a problem. REI has a dozen that are similar.
