An appropriate thread and food for thought for anyone considering selling their low mileage, excellent condition E9x M3:

In fact, I wouldn't even consider a BMW with the SMG or other Auto trans equivalents, it had to have the MT or I wouldn't even look at it.

But as you mentioned my perspective changed and I now am thrilled with the DCT and it's been 100% the right choice for me.

Your approach makes sense to me; price it to what you are willing to let it go for, and if you don't get it you get to keep a fantastic car ... can't get anymore "Win, Win" then that
Aren't the gear ratios in the 6MT screwed up? Maybe I have the wrong idea, but some owners have said that it was really made for DCT and there wasn't too much consideration in correctly gearing the 6MT. If that's true, definitely reason I prefer DCT.

I test drove two different 6MT during my search, and IMHO the throws seems long, the clutch engagement was not crisp, and to your point the gear ratios seemed either too close or too spaced out depending on the gear I was in.

But my perspective is tainted/skewed/biased by my previous car, a purchased new 2017 GLI 6MT which was as sweet shifting manual as I have ever driven.

Additionally, it appears with a short shift kit a few other items some of my complaints/issues with the 6MT on E9x M3 get resolved.

But for me, the DCT is simply too good; it's quick, very responsive, and in traffic there is some slow speed judder, but in general it's outstanding.

If you didn't see this, I think it helps shed some light on "value". Reserve not met, but a little over $30k was what those in the auction figured it was worth.
