I wouldn't know the BK bracket exists without this thread and I simply wanted to say thank you for sharing.

I benefited greatly from the OP post.
Glad to have been of assistance. I wish I had known, I wouldn't have thrown 1k of Recaro/MS mounts to the garbage!

I came into the E92 M3 world once I saw the replacement. It took one test drive in 2013 E92 with 6000 miles on it and I was sold, smitten, and stopped thinking about anything else.

Coming late to the party allows me to research, I am obsessive reader/researcher, and learn what works from the other "obsessive" nuts out there.

My "method" is not fair. I have little to contribute and mostly "take" others ideas, methods and procedures.

So perhaps what I can contribute here is that I am not deleting my rear seat. Since I installed on the BK Recaro Profi SPA, there is no way for the average size person to fit in them. So they will have to sit in the back. The BK don't allow for the front seat to fold forward. But... they move forward enough that a decent size person, the one that can't fit in the front, can squeeze in and sit in the back.

I was worrying about this issue (bk and NOT deleting the rear seat) for quite a bit. So there you have it. "contribution".

Ha, well, it's the advantage of late comers, if you do your research then you always have the right solution!

The E9X is a very special car and although I have two I keep thinking of getting a third one!

i'm just wondering if using a bucket seat with the oem power slider, would it move forward enough to allow for backseat accessibility?

I'm still sad because not sure it'll fit with the seats I have. Measurements are a little wider than their widest one. Fuuuuuuh

Can you use the OEM switch for the mounts or do you have to buy the e30 one? I ordered them this morning and want everything ready to go.

I installed a BK harness bar for my E46 last week, and there is no easy way to unbolt them quickly and move them out of the way. Ian at BK told me they are working on a completely new design that is different than all of the harness bars they sell for BMWs, and that one should take about two minutes to move out of the way. They are currently testing the strength of the new mounting points.

But in the meantime, my rear seat are will remain useless..

Well that sucks!

On my E90 I remove the rear bolt points all the time to accommodate 4 tires

I did not think there will be a difference between E90 and E92. hmm.

I guess i am going to benefit from the new design when its out.

I don't want to give up my back seat.

I've had both the E90 and the E92 bars.

I know BK is working on improved versions that remove more easily but it already seems pretty damn easy

I got everything wired for the electric sliders and was clicking the switch forward and back making sure everything works (which it did) but after doing it a few times it blows the fuse. I know the instructions say it's a short but wouldn't it just blow immediately if that was the case? I'm not too wire savvy.

I am researching a 6 point harness solutions.
I am running into a real difficulties finding a place to mount anchoring point under the seat.

I have the BK seat bracket and just bought the BK sub strap mount.

The problem is that I am long torso kind of a guy and my Recaro seat is mounted on the lowest settings. which is perfect for me. But there is no room to add the sub strap bar.

In fact, last night I unmounted the seat, install the sub strap bar to see how high the seat needs to be mounted for me to use the bar. Grrr, way to high.

So sub strap bar out, seat back to lowest position. Here I am, looking for advise.

BTW, For the other 4 mounting points i have the BK harness bar Shadow documented

Really need help with ideas including how to make my upper body shorter.

I have the same issue with BK.
My seat is basically in the OE seat position with sub bar.

I was going to contact BK for a better solution.
e.g. the BK E46 bar sits on the flat offset portion of the seat mounts

What OEM seatbelt receiver are you using with BK mounts? It seems people are using either an e46, or e92 center back seat receiver. Does anyone have a part#? TIA.

I'm using the OE receiver. The BK mounts are designed to use them.

Thanks guys...does the OE receiver allow you to route through the harness slot to the inside of the seat, or do you have on the outside? I plan on using a recaro pole position.

It depends on the seat. A Recaro pole position has a small opening that will not accommodate the receiver. I have had success routing the receiver inboard with the profi-XL because it has large lap belt openings. My current Cobra Suzuka Pro's do not accommodate the receiver on inside.

This is interesting. I was going to ask how low these mounts were compared to normal mounts because they seemed a good bit lower by not requiring a thick base mount. I have the opposite problem as most people being that I'm only 5'9" so my concern is having the seat sit too low and not having good visibility over the steering wheel. With OEM power seats in the lowest position, i have about an inch or two of headroom, so no issue. Unfortunately I just purchased an OMP First R with Bimmerworld base plates, OMP (tall) side mounts, and what seems to be a new version of the Macht Schnell seatbelt receptacle adapter. I saw Shadow's original post about the MS adapter but his only had 2 holes, the new one (I bought through Trinity) has 3 holes and *seems* to be offset correctly to allow proper mounting. I guess if I have issues during install I can always back track and try this BK setup.
