However, for 2021 I am on rear 1100 and that requires a softer low speed and more critical to get it correct. So as I was making is "softer" moving toward 10, it got worse and it made no sense.

It makes no sense that LS 10 is the soft settings and I asked JRZ multiple times the first year I got the system about it. And the second year as well and I always understood the 10 was soft.

It is water under the bridge at this point but as far as documentations are concerned, I couldn't find, and still can'd find a reference to LS settings. All I can find is "make the LS soft or stiff" but not "start at 1" or "start at 10"

Grrrrrr…

Unlike the HS. the HS is clearly documented.
Why didn't you consult JRZ's website? The manual for my RS Pros clearly state which direction is soft and which direction on stiff.

I did. Many times.
I don't have the RSPro. I have something with bunch of options that I had hard time correlating it to a specific product. The canister I have is shown on other models, but I can never find a manual for what I bought.

Regardless, show me a link that document the control of the LS. If I saw it, I was not able to correlate that to what I have and went with what I was told. I will look for some old email to see if I misunderstood something.

Not sure it really matters any more.

Heading out to NYST on a perfect dry day.

First time with 71" APR wing adjusted at 0 AOA.

Hard to know what zero AOA, so I might be starting a bit on the -1 to -3. Will adjust down and see.

The main place to test would be the 8-9-10 sequence as I come into T-8 on 100mph and many time the MDM activate the traction control. I will be looking to see if the wing can mKe the car stick at 100mph.

off course if the MDM is activated because of front grip, then the wing may make it worse. But this is ok.

No, I am not experimenting AOA with MDM off. Don't even go there :-)

Update:
My car is my car again. It felt great my first three sessions.

I adjusted the wing down three time in very small increments. I will have to check the data to see if I can see a difference.

The rear is moving but in a controllable way and not coming around on ice.

I just did 1:40 so not too fast and it felt great on basically street tires.

Now this. My radiator hose touched the pulley and it is leaking. after lunch I need to figure out how to patch it to get home. I have some people helping me with rubber cement and duct tape.

ACM is sending me a do88 hose kit so tomorrow and Friday will need your help replacing the hose.

This is the third trackday I am not finishing for some problem or another. I am trying to stay positive.

The harder and faster you drive, the more stuff breaks. It's why people start looking to tow vehicles with trailers as well as bringing tons of spare parts.

My list of things to bring to the track is groing every HPDE day. I guess it is inevitable to go @dogbone route and have a spare E92.

LOL you should see what the Spec Miata guys bring. It's very difficult for one of those cars to break down and be completely done for a weekend, short of it getting in a nasty wreck. Control arms, axles, radiators, hoods, ball joints, etc. are all considered spares.

Carry "Rescue Tape". Self sealing. Will seal that hose.

I have a roll in the glovebox of my street cars.

So looking at my data from only 3 sessions st NYST using the 71" APR wing at 9 AOA (I moved it back to 5).

1. for the first time my 305/30/19 came up to temp! Temp was uniformed across the tire with acceptable inside and outside delta.

2. For the first time my temp for the front and rear were very similar rather hot front and cool rear.

3. For the first time I can see that coming into NYST T-1 my front and rear ABS were activated about at the same time and for the same duration. Rather than the rear been activate for a longer distance.

This is by NO MEAN enough data to conclude anything. But if this holds, than the APR 250 wing is accomplishing something.

Yet to be tested. Coming into NYST T-8 at 100mph my MDM traction control is still flickering and I need to see if it is coming from the rear or the front. TBD.

Today at Palmer with 5 AOA.

Another day, another leak.
Car felt great and was doing 1:52 a PMP but another hose touched another pulley and another leak.

This time I have Rescue Tape with me and a gallon of anti freeze.

This has to be a motor mount or the radiator is moving or something.

Grrrrrrr

Yeah, something's not right. It shouldn't be touching to begin with. Some investigation necessary. Hopefully you can get it sorted quickly and easily. I know first hand how frustrating issues like this that end your track days can be.

I have solid mounts.
The Rescue Tape did not work.
A very kind track buddy was helping.
We drive to O'Reilly and found a generic radiator hose that we manage to cut to size.

The using the two BMW plastic ends we "MacGyver-ed" something together that worked.

After fixing, we try to see if the engine moved but it does not seems to be motor mounts.

More like the do88 radiators are not secured enough and moving during hard track day. I had not trouble driving around town and to the track (2hrs) and first three sessions.

So yes, I have to bring it back to Autocouture and troubleshoot the issue.

Very frustrating. The car drive so awesome.

This kind of dumb question but why the RE050A 140tw is max performance and all the 200tw are extreme performance?

Because those categories are made-up by Tire Rack, for all intents and purposes. Also, the RE050 is an old-ass tire and the new "200TW" stuff is miles ahead of it.

Ignore the category, it's to make shopping easier for people who don't know much about tires.

dparm,
The 285/30/19 RE50A on the front did 1:36 at NYST. This is the fastest time I was able to do with road tires. I get it that is is old, very old. But why so much emotions about this tire?

Why do I care if it goes fastest for $134/tire and last three days at a very abrasive track like NYST?

Granted, 1:36 was only first day. But 1:40-1:41 until corded the outside is ok too.

Anyway, I am looking forward to see what I can do on the 255/35/19 RE-71R and wonder how long it will last.

I have two open days at WGI on June 9-10 and for that I am bringing new front and rear MPSS:
285/30/19 and 295/30/19. While perhaps not the fastest out there, I am very comfortable in the MPSS and I have not been on a big track yet with the M3. Specifically, the MPSS is versatile in case wet track.

I did WGI with a 1995 E34 M5 I imported from Europe many years a go and on the 996S Ducati. Another old school big track is Mosport in Canada which I went for a 3-day event for few years in a row. But again that was in the Ducati. I am really looking forward to re-visit WGI.

I short, In the last 4 years I added one track a year and this year is WGI turn.

What emotions? You asked about the categories and I told you they're just a marketing exercise. We've talked about how the TW ratings are kind of a joke, too. When the RE050A came out, the 200TW cheater tires didn't really exist.

If you want to run an RE050A and like it, go for it -- it's your car and your money.

The RE-71R will be faster than the RE050A, all else being equal. They label it as 200TW but it's probably more of a 100-120.
