Yes I do have some...will upload soon

This update takes place in October 2019.

Alright, so I am SUPER excited to share with you all something that is extremely rare!

As a matter of fact, it is the last available part in the world of this variant. That could be because it is undesirable; however I wanted something that mimicked the OEM bodylines.

Still curious on what it is?

OK OK, so with the help of my good friend Mo@AlphaMotorsports, we sourced the last available Seibon E90 M3 OEM-Style Pre-LCI Carbon Fiber Trunk. A lot of people opt for the CSL or Ericsson variants, but as mentioned, I absolutely love the “boxy” OEM look.

A really cool feature about this trunk is that there is NO BMW Roundel on the trunk, which I thought made it look so much cleaner!

Why PRE-LCI trunk...I just absolutely love the dated-vibe it gives off.

This trunk also got lost in transit, so my good friends Alex (M3Post Member: "acarr6"), Ross (M3Post Member: "Senpai"), and Mitch (M3Post Member: "JDM4eva") knew how stressed I was. All good, it was eventually found by Mo@AlphaMotorsports, who went on a wild goose-chase for DHL’s delivery team to locate the trunk.

Enjoy the pictures:

QUESTION FOR YOU ALL: Do you think I should put an M3 badge on this trunk? Let me know if I should leave it clean, or slap a Black M3 badge on the trunk.

Thank-you all for stopping by for this update. Stay tuned for what is coming to Sky…lets just say I gotta keep up with the two themes of this car: Blue and JDM!!

The trunk story is still ridiculous. The fact that Mo was able to track down the actual truck it was on... just wild lol. As for the badging, I think no badge would be super clean. I've always loved the no badge look purely for the symmetry it offers. I love that it has no bmw rounder that's super unique.

Nice! Glad the trunk was found!

Definitely do some black lines if you're keeping the pre lci look!

Not really a fan of black lines...I literally only like the OEM Pre-LCIs

Thanks man, I will eventually paint it when I repaint the whole car SSII. This is going to be a BIG restoration project filled with motorsport goodies that you don't want to miss!

OK Update Time!!

Prior to all of the exciting things that have been recently happening with Sky, I had my good friend Danny@LazerMedia take some shots of both Gabby and Sky.

This involved Danny piloting Sky, and myself piloting Gabby. We found a really cool spot right near the water in Toronto, which made for some really nice shots.

This took place back on June 30, 2019.

Please enjoy the pictures:

Hey everyone, thank-you for stopping by!

This update takes place in October 2019.

Seeing as I’m planning to upgrade my Steering Wheel, I wanted to continue focusing my attention to the interior.

I was inspired with Michael’s (M3Post Member: "leemik") M3, with all of his rare goodies. I took particular note of his Shift Knob being Titanium. I have never seen a Titanium shift knob option for the E9X platform, so I quickly asked Michael about how he did it.

It turns out that this shift knob requires an adapter to use. I turned to DND Performance Interior for their BMW Threaded Adapter 12x1.25.

BACK TO THE SHIFT KNOB.

Here is a picture of it in Michael’s car:

Ok so this shift knob is made by renowned JDM tuner, Powerhouse Amuse. This is their R1 Titan-division Titanium Shift Knob. Price-aside, this is probably one of the BEST shift knobs money can buy on the market.

I had to stay true to my roots of pure JDM, so shout-out to Michael for getting creative and doing something unique in the E9X community; you definitely inspired me to make this happen for Sky.

I purchased the Powerhouse Amuse Shift Knob from Nengun, and it arrived safely in no time!

Please enjoy the pictures of the knob:

I then wanted to upgrade something on the interior that I recently saw and fell in love with. This is one of those mods that is tasteful, and can really make the interior POP…Coloured Instrument Gauge Cluster!

Here’s a picture of the one I saw online that caught my eye:

There are a couple different options available on the market, however I was most impressed with the quality of Venoxy Gauge Faces.

Why? Well for one, they are not stick-on covers but rather full replacements. I could even customize it to my liking with the correct instrument readings (KMs).

Bartek@Venoxy even offers some unique customization features like a Honeycomb backing look:

After talking with Bartek@Venoxy, we ultimately decided on this design:

Notice on the Speedometer it says “Sky”…I thought that was a nice subtle touch.

I received them back in October and they came with very well documented instructions that my mechanic will follow when he installs them.

Please enjoy the pictures:

Stay tuned for next update…something small arrived, but will make another nice subtle difference to the rear-end.

Great update!
You should definitely try and DIY the cluster! Quite simple and would be a fun home project!

I've never really been interested to "wrench" on any of my cars. I just leave it to the pros who do it day in, day out.

Hey everyone, and welcome back to my journal!

This will be a shorter update where I share with you all another rear-end mod that I purchased for Sky.

This update takes place in October 2019.

Seeing as my Seibon Carbon Trunk did not come with, nor do they sell an E90 M3 OEM-Style Trunk Lip Spoiler, I decided to look elsewhere.

I bought one on eBay, and sadly, the weave is going the OPPOSITE way (facepalm).

Oh well, maybe I’ll find another one in the future that has the correct weave direction.

Enjoy the pictures everyone:

Stay tuned for next update…super excited to show you all the Track-Day action shots from Summer 2019.

Happy Friday everyone!

I'm super excited to share with you the photos from a track day from Summer 2019.

I decided to tag along with my good friends at Touge Tuning to the local race track and shred some tires!

Sky definitely is a garage queen, but she likes to stretch her legs every now and then...enjoy

UPDATE TIME!

You may have seen me post a separate thread for my Dinan & Challenge Exhaust setup; this is the update where I share it in case you didn’t see that thread.

This update takes place in October 2019.

So I went to see my best friends at Touge Tuning to have them switch my Winter Tires over on the car. Winter 2019 going forward however, I will no longer be winter driving Sky. I’m putting the winter tires on the car just so I can store my TE37 summer setup.

Because I was unavailable to book an appointment with Usic@Total Motor Werkes, I had Chris@Touge Tuning also install my E90 M3 Dinan Exhaust.

Here's a picture of my stock exhaust fully off the car:

My Challenge Race X-Pipe was already on the car from when Rocco@RMP Motors did my Rod Bearings. Installing the Dinan Rear Section would be one of the final pieces of the puzzle for the full exhaust system (missing headers).

In my opinion, the sound is INCREDIBLE. My good friend Lacha (Instagram: m3an_s65) had this exact setup on his E92 M3, and inspired me to go with this same setup.
It definitely wakes up the roaring V8, with the ever-so-slightest bit of rasp and absolutely NO drone!

Enjoy some videos of the exhaust:

The last thing I had Touge Tuning do was disassemble my spare E90 M3 subframe. The reason being is my existing subframe currently on the car is in very poor shape and needs to be restored…so I just bought a spare one and will restore that and then swap them out to get me back on the road immediately.

Enjoy the pictures of the fully disassembled subframe:

The restoration project for this subframe is as follows:
  • I will take it to Mark@Fireball Coatings and have his team sandblast the subframe.
  • I will then take it to my friend Ronnie O'Brien (Top cage builder in Canada who built the cage for my Subaru), and have him evaluate the stripped down subframe, and "patch" up and strengthen this subframe.
  • Once Ronnie reinforces this subframe, I will then take it back to Mark's team at Fireball Coatings, and have them powdercoat it (still undecided on the colour, but thinking of light grey with a blue flake).
  • Finally, I will take the completed subframe to Usic@Total Motor Werkes and have him press in my Turner Motorsport Solid Subframe and Differential Bushings.

In addition to that, I will slowly start refreshing the entire suspension by buying replacement aftermarket parts from brands like SPL, Future Classic, Hotchkis, etc.

Here's my game-plan for suspension:
  • Dinan Front Carbon Fiber Strut Tower Braces
  • Future Classic Trailing Arms
  • Hotchkis Front and Rear Sway Bar Kit
  • MCS Two Way E9X Remote-Reservoir Damper Set
  • SPL Parts Pro Adjustable Rear Sway Bar End Links
  • SPL Parts Titanium Series Adjustable Front Lower Racing Control Arms
  • SPL Parts Titanium Series Adjustable Rear Toe Arms
  • SPL Parts Titanium Series Adjustable Rear Upper Camber Arms
  • SPL Parts Titanium Series Front Tension Rod Pair
  • SPL Parts Titanium Series Rear Upper Control Arms
  • Turner Motorsport Front Upper and Lower Control Arm Monoball Upgrade

I'm not sure if any of these parts overlap, but ideally I want the BEST suspension setup possible...and this is what I came up with.

Leave me some feedback on this suspension setup.

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out the next update for a really exciting project:

Hey everyone and welcome back to another update.

This update takes place in October 2019.

Prior to installing my Varis/VRS Rear Diffuser System 1 (Full Carbon) and Seibon E90 M3 OEM-Style Pre-LCI Carbon Fiber Trunk, I wanted them to be in as perfect condition as possible.

As mentioned previously in my journal, I purchased the Varis Carbon Fiber Lower Rear Diffuser from Sam (M3Post Member: "Semp"). Sam had installed some protection foam and clear bra film on it since day one.

The part where the foam was installed is usually where all the Varis diffusers get damaged, so I'm thankful that Sam took pride in owning this diffuser.

Prior to selling it to me, Sam had removed the clear bra to prep it for what I was planning to do.

With my side-hustle being a detailer in Toronto, I knew this involved a paint correction, paint protection film (PPF), and a ceramic coating.

Now being a lot more busier than usual with my insurance broker gig, I didn't have time to do the paint correction myself. I decided to take it to my good friend Steven@Elevated Auto and have him sort out the paint correction, PPF, and ceramic coating.

All I'm going to say is pay very special attention to the prep work involved (taping/masking off certain areas). Steven@ElevatedAuto is hands down amongst the top PPF and Tinting installers in the Greater Toronto Area.

Steven had his team member John start with the polishing work.

Once that was completed, Steven applied the XPEL PPF, and then John finished it off with a CeramicPro coating. This is what I consider the OCD Treatment.

Please enjoy the pictures of the process. I've also included a video showing a 50/50 shot of the swirls on the Varis Diffuser:

Thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned for next update...all I can say is it's going to be a HUGE ONE!

I’m super excited to share with you all a BIG update!

This update takes place during Late November 2019.

Prior to putting the vehicle away for winter storage, I couldn’t resist the itch to get Total Motor Werkes (TMW) to install a few of the parts I’ve showed you all.

The list of parts that TMW will install includes:
  • DND Performance Interior BMW Threaded Adapter 12x1.25
  • eBay E90 M3 OEM-Style Trunk Lip Spoiler
  • Powerhouse Amuse R1-Titan Titanium Shift Knob
  • Seibon E90 M3 OEM-Style Pre-LCI Carbon Fiber Trunk
  • Varis/VRS Rear Diffuser System 1 (Full Carbon)
  • Venoxy Gauge Faces E90 Replacement Instrument Cluster Blue w/"Sky"

While also there, I had Usic@TMW do a few other maintenance related items…this is probably the most detailed invoice I have ever seen:

Usic noticed prior to working on my car that there was a big scratch on the plastic Instrument Cluster. Most people would not be concerned with this, but knowing how my goal is to restore the car, Usic pointed it out!

Total Motor Werkes is THE best, most meticulous shop in the GTA.

They do not take on any new clients, and as mentioned, I had to be referred by an existing client and evaluated if I was someone that Usic would want as a client.

After “making the cut” and being taken on as a client of TMW, I later asked Usic why he doesn’t take on new clients.
He told me everything is done from the heart, nothing is rushed, as close to perfection results are always strived for. Having a shop that operates on a rushed “in-and-out” mentality allows for things to get missed, and the overall customer experience being satisfactory instead of pleased!

Usic’s existing client base keeps him more than busy, so he can properly plan his day with working on restoring classic BMWs, to servicing race-prepped BMWs.
But I kid you not, when I say perfection is always aimed for, I’ll just give you all an example. When Usic was installing my Trunk Spoiler, he took several measurements and utilized a laser to ensure perfect results.

In addition to that, even the way he retrofitted my OEM Trunk Fabric Liner onto the Seibon Carbon one was Above and Beyond!

Enjoy the pictures:

Hey everyone and welcome back for another update.

This update takes place in November 2019.

With the current shape of my interior, I really felt the need to give it a “refresh” and incorporate some motorsport-oriented parts.

I turned my attention to the Steering Wheel. I realized that there are currently several options available out there for Steering Wheels, all of which have great reviews. Ultimately I decided to opt for the Mashimarho Steering Wheel, as I felt it had the best customization options and positive feedback from both fellow members and personal friends.

Here are the criteria I had for Sean:
  1. Alcantara Material from 3-9
  2. Carbon Fiber Material from 9-3
  3. Thick Blue Racing Center Stripe
  4. Blue Stitching
  5. D-Shaped/ Flat-Bottom

The Flat-Bottom was the BIG factor in my decision of not sticking with the OEM BMW Performance Alcantara Steering Wheel.

Let me just say that Sean@Mashimarho knocked my Steering Wheel OUT OF THE PARK!!! Guys we're talking Home-run, Grand Slam! It looks incredible.

I would happily recommend all of you to check out Mashimarho’s Steering Wheels if you are interested in purchasing a Steering Wheel for your M3.

Please enjoy the pictures:

Thank-you all for stopping by and checking out this update.
Stay tuned for next update…it’ll be quite “Individual.

Looks good man!

I also recently installed a Varis diffuser on mine, what a PITA..FYI you can get it to sit flush if you remove the spacers.

Update time!!

This update takes place in December 2019.

Last update I shared with you all a teaser of something “Individual.

I’m quite the individual myself lol, I really like to be unique, especially with how I customize a car.

Regarding the Steering Wheel, a unique option that very few people have done is they upgrade their Steering Wheel Trim Cover to one from the GTS model. Apparently you have to buy the M3 GTS Steering Wheel in order to get this trim…they don’t sell it separately.
While it looks cool with the racing flags, I saw on ECS Tuning a rare Individual Steering Wheel Trim Cover that seems to be an EU-only option. I confirmed with my good friend Mitch if his Neptune Blue M3 Steering Wheel has this…he said no.

I decided to order it because I felt it was really subtle and classy-looking.

Please enjoy the pictures:

I also ordered some interior and general parts for my M3 from Turner Motorsport:
  • BMW Center Exhaust Hanger Support
  • BMW European Headlight Switch – Chrome
  • BMW iPhone Lightning USB Y Cable Audio Music Adapter

I decided to go with the Chrome European Headlight Switch to match the Chrome finish of the Individual Steering Wheel Cover Plate…again a subtle but nice touch.

In case you all forget, here’s a picture of how my BMW Center Exhaust Hanger Support was looking:

Yikes is right! Enjoy the pictures of the parts, and thank-you to both ECS Tuning and Turner Motorsport for helping me obtain all of these parts. I'll be looking to them for most of my parts for Sky's rebuild.

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for next update.

Looking great! Make sure you pickup the LCI cupholder trim as well (they have a little metal on them)
