E93 M3 Sway bar info

Took the e93 to the track yesterday and noticed that the car had more roll than I would like. Before all of you guys bag on me for having a convertible, I already know that it will not handle as well as the e92/90. It was still fun as hell though so that’s all it matters to me. I was just wondering if there is a way to stiffen up the suspension a bit with aftermarket sway bars and if there is, which would you guys recommend. I did my research and found that the e93 already has larger sway bars than the e92/90 but couldn’t really find anything on aftermarket ones for the e93 to potentially make it even stiffer??

Car is already lowered

Hotchkis or Eibach sways will make a big improvement. Ideally you'd do both, but I know the rear is a huge pain so most usually do just the front.

Is there any reason the E93 front swaybar is tapered down in diameter at the center? If so, maybe a bigger bar will have clearance issues. Otherwise, I’d go Hotchkiss or Dinan — they are the biggest. On my E90, I run Eibach 29mm on full stiff. It was on sale and much cheaper than Hotchkiss or Dinan.

Not sure. It does say on Dinan’s website that their 32mm sway bar is e93 compatible so I might just go that one. Thanks!

I have both DINAN front and rear on my e93 M3. They were installed by the previous owner so i could not tell you how much different they actually make!

While the rear is a pain to install, many knowledgeable people choose not to run a bigger one because it decreases rear traction.

I'd prefer the more neutral handling balance from having both bars then just upgrading the front. Rear traction issues with a bigger rear bar are very minimal in cars with an LSD. That's a common concern in cars with an open diff, but that's not the case here.

Most track guys don’t run a stiffer rear bar. Just a stiffer front one.

That's not true.

A lot of people run upgraded both bars. Upgrading just the front bar will make the car understeer more, holding everything else constant. If the goal is to increase front roll stiffness and shift handling balance towards more of an understeer bias, then yes upgrading only the front bar is what you'd want to do. Initial turn in response will be better but ultimately the car will understeer more. Many people confuse this increased turn-in response with the front end 'biting' better or having improved grip, which isn't the case.

I am very happy with H&R solution.
It is 42% stiffer than stock.
Non adjustable so existing links work
Solid vs hollow so diameter stays the same

I have adjustable after market dampers/Rebound so I use that to adjust.

Your E93 looks awesome. What type of springs are you lowered on?

I also have an E93 and about to install Dinan springs, along with the Dinan Supplemental Handling & Ride Quality kit, as well as the Dinan Monoball bushing kit.

The monoball bushings alone will stiffen the front about 10%, and I'm also considering how to proceed with stiffening up the rear.

Dinan offers front/rear sway bars, as well as adjustable rear toe links.

Have you considered Dinan's monoball kit or their rear toe links?

I’m lowered on Eibach Pro-kit. Can’t go too low for me with SF driveways. Next mod is most definitely Dinan front sway bar and mono ball

Nice. I'm in SF too... the driveways and potholes are horrendous in the city.

I considered Eibach Pro Kit too, but decided on Dinan springs (specifically made for E93), as well as Dinan's Supplemental Handling & Ride Quality kit, which allows stock suspension travel on their lower/stiffer springs.

I know Dinan used to make rear sway bar for the E9X M3, but don't see it on their site anymore... So considering other options too.
