BE bearings are backordered and hard to get at the moment...so revenue is down not because of lack of demand, but because of lack of supply. I bet if there were a 30 person group buy on BE bearings right now it would get filled up within a day or two.

I know I spun a bearing, but have not had a confirmation from a BMW technician regarding what has happened.

Does anyone know if that's even possible (fuel injector failure will blow the engine)??!??!?!! When my engine blew it was driving just fine... then all of a sudden limp mode and dead engine...

HELP!?!?!?!?!
Who said it was an injector failure? The dealer? It's in their best interest to diagnose something that IS covered by your insurance so they get paid to fix it so, if that's the case, then they don't have any reason to lie.

Does century not cover the injectors or do they not cover the engine because it was caused by injector failure? That seems stupid to me...its a mechanical failure that couldn't have been foreseen...

Either way, good luck!

Negative

There are hundreds of open orders in BE waiting for bearings to ship to be able to charge customers

OP: yes, an injector saying stuck open will blow an engine. It's quite rare, much more rare than rod bearing failure

From BE's website

BACKORDERS ONLY: Placing order now ensures earliest delivery. No CC charges until shipping.
We expect this to be in stock on
Friday 18 September, 2020.
Like I said, BE bearings are back-ordered because the supply is low, and the demand is high. Not sure what you're trying to argue here.

Yes the group buy would fill up quickly if the bearings were shipped out in June and not September...from another company that is a distributor of BE bearings.

doesn't exist, which is why there won't be any group buys in the next 3 months....if there was it would fill up in 1 or 2 days like I said. A lot of people are just settling with VAC or ACL bearings now.

Open and hydrolock... damage to the cylinder wall

much much worse than i thought! the one time you wish you spun a bearing and you didnt!!!!! RB would have been covered by my warranty and i would have gotten a new engine, but my fuel injector failed without any warning...

I did have a Valve Cover Gasket leak that was fixed in Nov 2019, could that have maybe damaged the fuel injector??? i know the injectors are on the side of the engine so doesnt seem like it should happen... just a freak accident and my very very bad luck i guess

It shouldn't matter if it was a fuel injector, if the engine was destroyed, it is an engine failure. How is an injector any different than a bearing? Bad insurance company..

Really sorry to hear about this. Be wary of used engines from Ghassan (sp?). A few horror stories on this board. I see his company on eBay a lot too

Its like insurance saying we don't cover tires when you blew a tire and crashed your car.
