Narrow License Plates? (California)

Is it possible to get a narrow license plate like this in California? I checked out the DMV site, but no mention of anything like it.

As opposed to this, which in my opinion, does not look as nice.

Yes, simply move to Europe.

Well, that sucks. Those plates look way better in my opinion (also have some interesting EU badges on them).

Have you ever seen a plate in the USA ( tv, online, movie, on the road) which was not the std plate?

For the first 90 days of getting your brand new car, you could put on an euro plate for look.

Well I had my euro plate in the front since purchasing my ///M in late 2010. Have yet to receive a ticket for it.

So in short yes but remember that you might be stop more often than you would like.
