Why so many Akrapovic Exhaust for sale?
Or is it bc I'm looking for one and want one so my eyes have a bias towards them. I'm h... I mainly want an Akrapovic system bc I like throaty, deep, lion roar type exhausts. Opposite from the fast, higher pitched Remus or eisenmann or whatever. Anyways.
Do people buy the Akra and realize it's too loud for the m3 brand and want to tone it down? Or is it too soft. Why are there so many more akra exhausts for sale than any other brand? Just the most popular? |

i've noticed there have been a good amount for sale in the past few months in general.
it's not the loudest exhaust out there. the slip on is barely any different from stock. full akra is just a waste of money imo a lot of folks jumped ship to f8x so i'm assuming that would be the most logical reason there would be for the number that have been popping up in the past few months. |

Akrapovic is known as the benchmark for quality. If you see a used Akraprovic at a good price, snatch it up or someone else will.

Very popular exhaust, probably the most popular for the E9x M3. It makes sense they would dominate the used exhaust market.
I will actually have a rear section (for an E90 sedan) for sale myself soon. |

I'm not into a raspy exhaust note. I used to track a Honda, I did everything in my power for it to not have that rasp that's associated with a rice burner. I can't for the life of me figure out why people outside of the Honda community can bash a Honda for sounding like a raspy shit box, but M cars get a pass. The new F8X sounds abysmal, and my E46 has an exhaust made of resonators damn near to avoid the same :P
Most titanium exhausts add to that hollow tin sound. Not my jam. With the S65 maybe being a pass, but either way, it still sounds a little weak compared to some of the the other options. The craftsmanship is a work of art though!

i've had eisenmann race and the drone is very obnoxious. akra sounds great without being obnoxious and the titanium has a very unique sound. also, you need to factor in akra is one of the best looking exhausts for the e9x m. i'm referring to the evo and gt4 setup, not the slip-on which is way too quiet imo. i haven't heard an exhaust on these cars that sounds bad, even oem has a pleasant sound. |

fyi drone is subjective FOR SURE. alot of people on this forum are pussies when it comes to drone. some think stock drones and it does in a small range, but it's nothing at all to write home about. |

I had the akra evo, and I questioned why this exhaust costs 2x as a normal setup. The sound was too quiet for my needs so I switched to the GT4 and it's perfect. At the end of the day, it really comes down to what you're looking for. The akra evo is great for day to day driving and won't cause all your neighbors to hate you. The e9x m3 platform is awesome for this very reason. We have so many options. Different strokes for different folks. |

I am currently running Akra rear paired with an MRF x-pipe and it sounds absolutely fantastic. I would put this setup against anyone else's. Believe it or not it actually has slightly less noise in the cabin at low revs, but sounds brassy and ballsy as hell when you get on it. And the overrun on this setup is bananas. I love it.
