Dynoed the car Saturday- Interesting...... video inside
I had some time to waste this last saturday so I put the car on the dyno to see what we could see This was run using a 'dynojet' configuration.
Modifications at time of dyno: BMC Air filter Active Autowerke version 1.0 software UUC Corsa exhaust. The car ran fine and I got some quick video. Video- I do have one question. The car seemed to make decent power however the peak power came a little earlier than i was expecting. While we buried the tach at 8400 rpm (as seen in video,) the car stopped making power at 8000 rpm. Now, is this a configuration problem between the dyno and the cars tachometer or could it be my AA software v.1.0- Ive just heard a lot of 'things' that version 1.0 software is doing or not doing... I apologize that I dont have my run files with me but I will be uploading them to this thread asap. Most cars with these simple mods make peak power at 8200 rpm and could even go higher but my car seemed like it was ready to go home at 8000rpm. What do you think?

I would upgrade to their newest version or go with powerchip. I've heard some bad things about the 1.0 software.

+1, your tune is most likely the culprit. My car made power to redline with the AA tune, but it was down 20hp from where it should have been. Maybe their 1.5 software has cured that problem.

PG, you may also want to add that your dyno results were not based off of AA's off the shelf map, but rather a map made for your specific mods. Let's play fair here .

PG, here was your explanation of your tune that you posted in my thread:

Before I dyno'd and reviewed the AA ECU tune, I asked a lot of question. There are some in this thread who have implied (or stated as fact) that AA does not engage is custom tunes. That assumption (or statement) is completely false. At any customer's request, AA will start with their "shelf tune" and customize it for the customer's situation. That's exactly what they did for me. I told them which modifications I had on the car, and which modification I was going to get next, and they gave me a tune that was custom tailored to those requirements. I would say those results spoke for themselves: 28hp, and 22 ft/lbs torque gained. For me, those results were stunning, and the car drove so much more responsive. I have no interest in taking sides here because both companies provide very fine products. My only interest in posting, was to correct the misinformation I saw. I thoroughly enjoyed my AA ECU tune while I had it; but as many of you know, the stroker motor comes with its own ECU tune and the AA software is no longer in my ECU. BTW, I fixed the dyno records to reflect your Encore X-Pipe. __________________ Cosmetic mods: HRE P40. Brembo BBK. Eibach. HRE 540R, Escort 9500ci. thank you for chiming in PencilGeek
Its a good thing you have created this database for this reason- seeing all the other dynos that closely resemble mine make me feel normal at this point. The car drives great- Ill call Active up and get them to re-flash the car just for the hell of it and then throw it back on the dyno- I should send it to them tomorrow so I can get the DME back before the weekend.....

The dyno looked completely normal to me, all the graphs I've seen have cars hitting peak HP right around 8000rpm

You are actually correct and so is PG. These ECU's are not "flashed" they are all done specific to your mods. A lot of changes have been made with the 1.5 upgrade. At the end of the day, 'custom tunes' on NA cars with basic bolt ons is rather simple. When we have a chance to tune the car in house we are usually able to squeeze out some more power. We have been doing tunes like this for years...
