Various

Redline looks to me to be less than 8250. Looks like 8100 although there is no reason is should/would be lower than the M5. Could be some parallax as well. I was really expecting 8500 myself. Agree with others above, interior looks a bit dull, especially with the wood, aluminum or CF only! Also, what is with the odd shift lever - automatic??

Thanks for putting my name up in the pics, somehow I forgot to do it.

As attachment I can say, the sound was very nice and deepish.

Just wondering, do you have anything else to share that we missed in this thread?
Thanks for taking pictures

Just wondering... Some pics of the new M3 sedan show the front grill design of the new coupe; other pics show the M3 with the current E-90 grill design. Does anyone know (have any thoughts) on which grill design will prevail when the new E-90 M3 hits the market? I kind of like the coupe's grill design with the classic kidney shape MUCH better.

Not really, just one from under the car were you can see 2 dirty mufflers and the cooling system for the gearing and one from the Vmax sticker for the winter tyres.

Here you go.

Was looking today for the M3 again, unfortunatly it was gone.

Too bad I couldnt rip off the cover from the hood to look at the engine

Agree that it looks like 8250 redline, just like the V10.

However the best part of this shot is the appearance of what could be a new transmission. PLEASE LET IT BE!! BMW needs to step up with a DSG-style trans.... !!! Looks like there is some hope now!

looks to be smg....which, if its the same smg3 that's in the m5, its a world of difference between it and smg2...

Still hope for higher redline

This could be a M5 tach. It does not look exactly like the M5 tach but it could be. The best resolution M5 tach picture I could find is attached. This seems to jive with the interior looking a bit rough/early as well. Maybe the M3 will rev to 8500 (or other) and they just stuck an existing M5 tach in this mule. Probably very wishful thinking, but I would not call the redline issue as 100% yet...

trust me, it will have 19s w/o doubt
so it comes down to either 8250 or 8500 rpm.
so far though, i am leaning toward 8250.

i dont know, but something seems wrong to me with these pictures, i know its always the same number plate, but i know there is a software called p-shop, so thats no proof its the same car. the back fenders of the firts back view of the car seem to be smaller than the ones from the last picture from the back. i dont see any cover up for the side holes, it will most definitely get(id say) next to the engine (dont know what you call them in english. the air intake in front is the first, that would be uncovered, never seen an uncovered one of the coupe before. plus it seems to be small to cool down a 4 liter V8 engine. i think these pictures are taken from bmw side to confuse us all. or does the picture prove to you, that the red line will be at 8250? to me there ist too much unsolved contrary in these pictures.
cheers

ok! but if its a m3, why are there no covered up louvers? and i mean, rpms and airintake are definitely something, bmw wont uncover until the beast is official, so isnt it a bit strange, that they let someone take a picture?

You're free to beleive whatever you like, but the car in the picture is an M3 Test Mule. End of subject.

Have no fear...

Look at this thread:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13244

As you can see the E46 M3 has an oddly bulging hood as well, but once the camo was off, it looked awesome. The E92 will be no different.

I'm sorry to say that, but the E46 M3 in that link is a PS based on the E92 M3 camo! It's purpose was only to show how the beloved E46 M3 would like like with the same kind of camouflage!
Anyway the new M3 will look great, i have no doubt, and it will sound great!

Regards south

+1
But it's quite an old mule, the newer ones have already the quad exhaust just like on the E92 M3 prototypes!
Best regards, south

Hmm, I didn't relize that. Thanks for the info. Either way though, like you said, I'm confident they'll get it right on the production version.
