Stoplight Posers. What kind of cars love to hassle you?

Friends,

Ever since I bought my first 335i over a decade ago, there have been countless accords, v6 mustangs/camaros, and 328s who have tried to show me their business at stoplights. Now that I have an M3 in Seattle, it's mostly been F series 328s and 335s, and priuses.

What kind of cars love to show you guys the beans at stoplights, and have you ever bitten just to put them in place? Just curious and wanted to have a little fun!

I live in SoCal and I'm always getting cases like this. As for me it's always other bimmers like 328's, single cab trucks, 350z's, mustangs or camaros. Usually they're pretty respectful, i could tell they'll do it for shits and giggles and we'll end up giving a thumbs up in the end.

Only time I'll actually put people in their place is when I've seen them cutting me or other cars off driving like idiots. Every time this happens I always see them dogging me down after

Most of the time, people just want to hear a friendly rev and give a thumbs up. I oblige.

335is and every make of fart canned scion on the planet. Its annoying. I do oblige from time to time with freeway onramps being one of the more fun places to do it.

No kidding! I felt like anywhere on the 405N between Rosecrans ave and Howard Hughes was prime FBO G35/G37 territory. Every f'ing day I'd see one blasting through lights, or weaving through freeway traffic.

I see a lot of heavily modified Hyundai Genesis Coupes driving like morons around here. I know nothing about those cars, but they are usually obnoxious AF

A lot of people in their day-to-day driving like to push it a little and think they are cute. Happens frequently and mostly I ignore it completely. Today however I was in a little mood and floored it in 1st and 2nd to pass an appliance who was pushing it and wouldn't let me pass. I think it was a Legacy and the person legit honked their horn as I was passing them at the top of 1st. I felt bad but couldn't help but laugh.

I honestly think I scared the piss out of them.

lmao

DCT+ACM mod gets 'em everytime!

I don't race or even play with sporty cars however. I know precisely how fast almost every car out there is, and how my car measures up. I am not interested in playing it out on the street, even a little bit.

As others have said mainly 350/370/G35/G37. Always Japanese brands "sports cars".

Occasionally I'll see a fake M Badge BMW and driver is with their GF/SO, then they'll try to race. It's fun to see their reactions after you let them go off the line first.

Honestly, I feel as though our cars do a fantastic job at remaining somewhat of a sleeper. From a sense that it just doesn't look downright flashy for people to notice it right away unless of course your an M addict.

I personally love the our cars are JUST right when it comes to asthetics without being completely over the top and cheesy.

Having said that.. I like most have 335s racing me you know.... the ones with the burble tune... repeatedly accelerate and let off the gas right next to me in order for me to hear is popcorn maker

Nobody seems to pay much attention to me when I'm in my E92.

We ended up in the same parking lot, and he just pulled up, rolled his window down, and hastily explained to us that he was going to get a turbo for his car and it'd be all good eventually.

Bro, no one asked for this info, or asked you to show off your coffee can exhaust to us. No hate on the GT86 cars, but i feel like all of the owners think they have supercars once they start making a little noise.

Vs. Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 - I spy upgraded front mount heat exchanger and exhaust on this one.

Vs. Modified 06 STi - I see a "flex fuel" (E85) badge on this one and hear an EWG.

Vs. Mustang GT 5.0 - I was Stage 2 with DPs in this one.

Holy s***, dude. That thing moves!

Lol looks like everyone down south hopped on that MHD train (me included a couple of years ago). Loved being able to change the intensity and duration of the pops and crackles, but it got obnoxious quick. Also, no one ever knew what was going on, because they'd hear this seemingly exotic sound coming from some normal looking coupe

I forgot who it was but they said, 335i owners think they basically BMW Aventadors, I think GT86 guys are the same
