I'm two weeks away from picking up my M3, but I'm pretty picky about my current car ('06 Accord), even though some would laugh at so much attention to a "regular" car.
I like my interior very clean. After anyone rides in it, there are usually dirt crumbs on the mats. I can't make it 24 hours without vacuuming those! I can go a few days on the drivers side, mainly cause the driver's mat is harder to see when I'm in it But, still like it clean. No trash is in my car, ever. Any receipts, trash, etc., gets cleaned out at the first stop. I keep the leather cleaned and conditioned during every wash (only hand washing). The car has 72K miles, and I think the interior looks outstanding. I've seen cars a few months old that look much worse. |

Anyone that does Boutique type detailing (especially as a hobby) is going to be meticulous usually. However I have seen some detailers trash their own cars, something which always blows my mind.

1) Whenever I get in and out of the car I make sure not to rub on the outside of the seat because I don't want it to look worn.
2) I only close the door using the door handle (never touch any other part of the car). 3) I live in San Diego and the other night we went to the beach and when my friends got back in the car, I had them take off their shoes because there might have been some sand leftover. 4) Wash it once a week. 5) No food/drink except for bottled water. 6) I go to college right now and I have the option to park outside right next to the dorm but instead I park it far away in a covered garage and walk instead. 7) Last one, I'm really careful about touching my steering wheel just like someone else posted if my hands are even slightly dirty. Haha this makes me sound kind of ridiculous but hey, everyone's saying it's normal |

I do that one too...I'll drive to the beach in sneakers, then switch to sandals, then back to sneakers when leaving (the sandals go in the trunk wrapped in a towel). If there's somebody else with me, they can either follow suit or ride back with bare feet (pending their quality of hygiene... )

dude that's nothing i don't even use my car it sleeps all week in my garage and i have to wash it every weekend even if i don't use it.i don't put more than two people in my car at one time including myself.i don't use power tools but i bought a cordless drill so that i can use the mothers ball to clean my wheels.i always check the weather reports in all city's and states that i will be driving through to make sure that it isn't going to rain if not i wont go.there is no one more insane with there car than me.maybe it's because it took me 20 years to buy.i picked this over a house and I'll do it again 50 times over.
