Corner worker killed at Laguna Seca

http://www.thedrive.com/accelerator/...ck-by-race-car

This so shortly after our long time corner worker Melody Smith losing her battle with cancer a few months ago...

Be safe out there guys, be alert, and appreciate what the corner workers do for us. That is all.

Condolences to the family.

This is not good news for the new owners of Laguna Seca. A good safety record means a lot at a track. Laguna Seca has had problems for a long time with profitability... I hope this doesn't turn into a bad turn of events for them.

Laguna Seca has had an excellent safety record amongst their peer facilities. Not saying they are incident free, but they are among the best in this area. I know from experience.

No doubt about it, but its not good news for Weathertech and SCAMP.

Still, I look forward to my track days at Laguna Seca and hope things stay great. Great course.

Sad news.

This is why professional races have multiple people working at a corner station: someone to spot, someone to handle flags, someone to run the radios, etc. Pretty surprising to hear that the worker entered a hot track like that.
