'09 M3 Nav same as '11?

I know the '11 has voice control but the '11 I drove the nav almost looked 3D from whatever view they had it set in. On my '08 my nav did not look near as good. I was wondering if I bought an '09 it would essentially have the same graphics as the nav in the '11.

Thanks in advance.

Most of the graphics will be the same from 09-on, however Satellite view will not be in the '09.

I'm guessing Satellite view is the "3D" look I was seeing?

The Satellite view is exactly that, a real photo view from a satellite. The 3D view that you saw is a 3D perspective representation of the area that you are in, including the buildings and bridges if available. This is the main map view improvement in the new iDrive from MY2009-on: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...highlight=view

One thing, though... not all the cities in the USA are 3D-mapped. Actually, it seems that very few cities are mapped with 3D data in the map DVD for the iDrive.

Great, thanks Technic for your help. I feel so out of the loop since my 08 335!
