F8x DCT Knob Transfer To E92 M3? #KnobSizesMatter

Is it possible to replace my dct knob for my 2009 m3 coupe for a 2015 m3 or m4 shift knob?

I love how big and well fitted the new ones are. Are they compatible?

I don't wanna order the new shift knob and then be told i cant install it and waste my money. Please provide insight!

I wish it would fit. I was told by my local parts guy they are different. If someone has a way please let us know.

Probably not possible, the knob is now part of the whole assembly

Why change the original DCT shifter to one from a F8x?

The original E9x is so much nicer in my opinion (I just sold my 16 F80 M3) because it has a leather cover on the end of it and its smaller.

E90 M3 but it's not an upgrade... F80 M3 is still the perfect car to me.

i love it don't get me wrong! i just love having a tad bit of a bigger shifter, and its more stiff. I loved it when i drove my buddies M4, feels more in tact and planted to the center piece if you know what i mean. its just personal opinion at this point, not the end of the world if i cant get the new knob on my 09

I test drove a 2017 last weekend. The knob seemed to be the same as my 2011...what's different?

Totally agree, the leather boot on the E9x DCT knob is very nice. The newer DCT with the plastic hole looks cheap and incomplete IMO

Weird, I didn't even notice. I don't use the lever to shift through the gears.
