It's a funny story, indeed interesting to read.
The comments however also highlight couple of questions, i.e. the approach Tom (the author) took towards the dealer, the misunderstanding that might have happed due to non clear request - but also the remark, that the carfax meanwhile is available (or extracts of it, and it shows some damages). A reminder to be fully aware and awake while purchasing an M3. |

There should be more Mobil mechanics performing PPI's. I spoke to a dealer once and they no longer allow their vehicles out of their sight due to some very sneaky "faux buyers" swapping working parts from their vehicles and having non working parts put back on theirs. Items such as plastic trim pieces, air filters, and especially items like O2 sensors have been swapped out while supposedly being taken to a mechanic shop for a PPI. Some people...
