Not to knock the color you had before but this new blue is gorgeous and just makes the interior pop even more in a good way. Very nice.

I think people are missing a few things

Clearly OP doesn't care about costs or resale

The fact is, it's still a 1 of 1. OEM or not

The purpose of an Individual BMW is for, well, the individual to have the car they want in the color combo they want.

I applaud the OP for doing what it takes to have the car he wants. That's a true car enthusiast. One thing I've learned is you can have a car worth $$$$$$$ but if you don't love it, what's the point?

Great work OP, I love it!

I seriously doubt that. Hopefully you're being sarcastic.

Why not do a wrap and save your value?

Beautiful work, and great color choice. Well done getting the repaint, and doing it right. A wrap is cutting corners at best. If you're going to do it, do it right.

Work is executed well but I wouldn't have painted it that color. Looks like if LeMans and IB had a baby.

At that price of work, I would be looking into Porsche colors or ancient BMW colors.

Just look at that massive v8- and the burst of attitude with the new blue. Well done! Makes me want a v8!

It is hard being correct. Thank you for keeping the stats fair. Seriously, if you think factory paint is good, you clearly haven't ever been to a car show, or known a painter.

Solidly in the opposing camp. Granted the car is beautiful but I can't imagine changing the original paint on an individual car. To each his or her own of course but this just blows my mind.

Have to agree. If the car is in pristine shape, keep it as is or let go for another. Turned out nice though.

Some you guys act like he ruined some vintage exotic. The factory paint is a joke for a car like this. I don’t think bmw had water based paint figured out at this point. Also our cars just aren’t worth that much anymore.

Looks like a quality job. Just to much work to come out looking almost like a stock interlagos.

Good on you doing what you want.

You could have had a 1 of 1 in individual "baby-poop-with Indian curry yellow flake" and people would still flip out about painting it.

Full disclosure, I did have a 118d in Havana Brown and really liked the color..
