Need help confirming 12v and ground wires in rearview mirror ('09 E92)

I am trying to tap into the power in my rearview mirror to hard wire a radar detector. It's a 2009 E92 M3 and I think I know what the problem is but am looking for help from the community to confirm.

I'm pretty sure Green/White in slot 8 is 12v power and Brown in slot 10 is ground, but the wiring kit I have isn't working in this location behind the mirror, similar to the issues others reported in this thread: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=775382

I think it may be because the taps are too short.

I've got them shoved all the way in, but they just aren't working. Perhaps I am tapping into the wrong wires, but I was actually able to get it to work using what I think are the same Green/White and Brown wires when I went under the light console per this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97545

Only problem is, the wiring kit I bought is too short to use from this location.

My only option seems to be to get a longer kit so I can just use the power in the light console. Unless I'm just using the wrong wires behind the mirror?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Did you ever figure out which one was ground? I suspect it's the brown/black wire to the immediate right of the green/white wire (12V power)....

Brown/Black (Pin10) is ground. Red/Violet (Pin 8) is power.
